March 2018 Challenge: Without leaving the house (or garden).

My three - and, as "suggested" I've stayed well away from flower portraits:

Taken from a bedroom window to give a high vantage point of part of my rear garden. I think this should count.

Exotic themed gardens have to attract exotic garden wildlife.  The unusual (for the UK) migrant Hummingbird hawk moth feeding on the blue flowered Ceratostigma willmottianum in the extreme right lower corner of the above pic.

And some of it comes inside. Twenty-plume Moth, Alucita hexadactyla, on the wall of the little passage that runs from the kitchen to the rear garden.

Looks like he's watching TV.

Oh my goodness, does this dog watch TV! I have any number of shots of him standing with his nose up to the screen when a nature program is on. He's even looked behind the TV to see where the creature he's been watching has gone. Not sure if this makes him extremely bright for a dog or very dim, but he is a character for sure.

OK, I'll give it a go in the community spirit but I have spotted some really good images already I can't compete with. Anyway, here you are.

Love some of the beautiful gardens people are posting!   And lots of variety, such an interesting topic Wim!    Here are my three.

It seems I take a lot of food photos at home.  Here's one of them.  No special setup, just natural light.  Someone brought those cupcake liners home from the UK for me.

Have to agree that there are some fabulous gardens on show here!

Very envious of the Basil growing outdoors, I've tried and failed!  It takes up too much space in the greenhouse and it's too cold outdoors.

Matt, sorry to you and all for posting this here, but since Alamy chose in their wisdom to remove the private communication channels within the forum, I figured that I might be able to get your attention by chasing up your most recent post.

You might want to adjust your image title here.  I think you may have forgotten to de-select the image while adjusting others? ;)

EDIT:  ...and while nosing around you port (couldn't help myself!) you might want to take a look at the (ironic) spelling error in your title here. :o:)

Thank you... I got caught out with keywording multiple images at once using AIM... obviously forgot to deselect some images when changing the titles!

Get out there and mow that darned lawn. Serves you right for going away so often.

Surely you are not past a bit of house painting yet?

I could only find three. I'm obviously not making enough use of my home :( And these are from former homes - I don't appear to have taken a single photo in my current home in the five years I've been here.

Old car dumped...

A Capri! Mk1 or 2?  ;-)

It's a Capri Mk 1. It had been there about a year when I took the photo. In retrospect I regret not renovating it but at the time I had quite enough on my plate without needing a renovation project, and the reason I abandoned it in the first place was because it was rusted through underneath so would have needed major surgery.

If I'd kept every old car I've ever owned, in good condition, I would be a very rich man now.

Wish I had some of the bikes I owned in the 70's too, though doubt my wife would have quite the same enthusiasm.
That said, restorations sell quite well on here - I documented rebuilding a Triumph Daytona a few years back, had several sales from that.

Last year, or was it the year before that, I painted a house wall. It wasn't a very big wall, but it took all day, and, using that special sticky paint on a lumpy rendered surface, it was exhausting. Every brush load had to be laboriously worked in, it's not painting as you might know it.

I asked a builder friend how he would have tackled the job, and his response was "I would have got someone in to do it!"  My overalls are still coated in splashes of white paint. Next time I'll hire in a specialist.

During the recent snowstorms, and foolishly,  driven by boredom, I decided to paint a ceiling.  It was child's play compared to painting house walls. Opportunity missed however, as "aged man painting ceiling" is not in my Alamy collection
