It's just annoying that the only alamy image from 102 posted has been ditched in favour of the big boys (Getty, AP, Reuters)  I better get paid for it!

At least the Sun online liked it enough to use it as well.

Thanks Clare. I think you inadvertently pasted the wrong link but I found it anyway

Please explain how, having seen it in the Guardian, you then proceed to find the picture reference and contributing photographer. I have tried all kinds of reverse image searches, with all kinds of tech and apps, but without any success. I'm full of admiration and totally intrigued! :-)

Search Alamy for "thriller jamie shaftesbury avenue". Yours are the only results.

I just tried it and found it no problems. I right clicked on the image in the Guardian, Search Google with this image, scroll down the results to the bottom of the page. There are two results on Alamy, one horizontal and one vertical pic.

You're welcome Jansos and Nacho.

Jansos - as others have said I just type the most obvious keywords into the alamy picture search bar and then look for the picture. From there you find all the info you need.

Just had a look at your portfolio and found you found you have misspelled Piccadilly Circus. KF9CKX ;-)

Thanks for that, I always save a link and take a screen grab, but how do you prove the date in the picture?

It does give the date on the page, under the author's credit. Of course, one could change that in the HTML Photoshop, but hopefully it wouldn't come to the paper denying the usages.

When it came to getting all my unreported uses from the Muddle, they didn't deny all the uses. I had to send all the screenshots of all my found in-uses to Alamy, who checked them against sales, fed back to me which ones had already been reported and paid for (there was no way I could match them up, as the date reported doesn't always match the date actually used) and eventually I got paid the pennies for the rest.
