Good news regarding Nik Collection software

Recommended Posts

Looks like good news - DxO have acquired the Nik collection from Google and intend to continue supporting it.

Oh, yes. Thanks. Good news after the not so good news about Lightroom.

Phew, that's a relief.

If DxO decides to only develop the Nik filters for DxO products, without a stand alone or plug-in option for Lr etc, I'll be very disappointed.  I hope it doesn't come to that.

Haven't used NIK yet, but I like DxO software so much I'll be upgrading very soon, to the new version that includes NIK. There is a plug-in for LR, I believe. The new program is called PhotoLab, and the upgrade from Optics Pro is affordable.

It just means we'll have to be paying for it all again, unless they just want the control points technology from Nik.
