Image quality needs to be high in a professional stock image library.

Some of these criteria I hadn't really considered before starting to contribute to stock libraries.  But since then I've learned a lot and my photography has improved.  If photography is important to you it's worth it to learn to meet these standards.

Only a sample may actually be viewed at 100%, but QC has big monitors and an eagle eye.

It's difficult (and in my case, virtually impossible) to predict what buyers want - unless they tell you, and then it's near impossible to predict how they want to see it, unless they are stood with you at the shoot.
