There us a closed forum in another place, not restricted to Alamy contribs. I'm not allowed to mention it. But I will pass on the details to anyone who manages to find my email address.

17 sales for a poor $417. I had achieved over $500 for each of the previous 3 months.

On the bright side, my zooms continue to improve and recently hit a best ever of 86 for the rolling month. A year ago they were half that. So hopefully sales will pick up soon to reflect the improving zooms.

Taking a quick look at your portfolio I notice you don't have Latin names for quite a few of your animal images, eg crocodiles eagles and kangaroos on pg 10.

You definitely get a +1 for this, as it sent me scampering to go all Elder Pliny on my Giraffes and Parrots.

EDIT : Betty already advised me to do this, but I forgot

It's all I've been doing this week, researching types of eagles, the various nuanced differences in giraffes, and I'm still none the wiser on some of my vulture shots. But, I've had some searches crop up using latin names so it does help.

I don't know where I read it (probably here) but it obviously makes sense to add them.

First two pages of this month's views for me had 34 out of 40 search terms containing the Latin name (some just the genus).  Most also had the cultivar as well.  It's what the specialist buyers search for and you're missing a major trick if you leave the Latin name out.

Edited to add that the views were sorted on # of results returned. low to high
