reCAPTCHA Hell: Select all the images with gas statiions, mountains, apartment buildings....

Recommended Posts

When I try to login to the contributor site I'm getting reCAPTCHA hell, I selected all the images with gas stations, mountains, water, apartment buildings and even all images that matched the label facial tissue holder..... before finally after 5 mins getting the verify button and logging in, my joy was short lived however as when I click on image manager, account balance and anything else that opens in a new window I'm asked to login again and endure a repeat of the long and tedious reCAPTCHA verification. I'm not a robot!

I got that when I tried to sign in a couple of weeks ago on my android tablet.  But only had to do it once.  Had never run into it before.

Was a bit leery.

I get the reCAPTCHA quite often. Annoying, time consuming, and completely unnecessary!

Just had about 10 reCAPTCHAs to work through just to get logged in this morning - VERY ANNOYING!  I have to do this EVERY TIME I log in.

Please make it stop!!!!!!

Had to endure another 10 minutes of it just to login and reply! I estimate months of my life are wasted selecting all the squares with whatever in them just to login to various sites, I wish google had never patented the stupid recaptcha, it's torture!

..please, google make it STOP!

I am at the stage where unless it REALLY matters I no longer use sites that use this ridiculous multipage reCaptcha. Alamy is close to being one of those ... :(

Sure to scare new and possibly old clients off. It is a pain in the ass to have to close it every time we browse Alamy.

Hint: when you are asked for apartment buildings, include multi-storey car parks - the thing can't tell the difference.

I was wondering the same thing. I had no sales, from the 14th to the 28th, when this first appeared. Coincidence?

Best one yet.

Click on all squares including a gondola.

It was a closeup of a gondola.

I click on all squares, because they were all a gondola.

No.

Try again.

Captcha has got to go....

VERY BAD idea.

Interestingly absolutely none of the financial online services (bank, investments, pension etc) I use feel the need for reCaptcha. Surely they have a stronger need for security than Alamy forums or even (most) dashboards? So why does anyone use it?

I haven't seen it for a couple of days now. Perhaps the change has been made but is taking a while to propagate between servers.

Gone for me for a couple of days but I must have jinxed it by breathing a sigh of relief. Now it's back as bad as ever.

Guess I'll have to be content with lurking until such time that signing in is less trouble.

It seemed to depend on which page I was logging into. My Alamy popped it up, so I switched to Net Revenue and went straight in.

I refuse to play the reCaptcha game on Alamy. Not worth the effort.

It's started appearing for me now on the forum login on my Mac. I clicked all the street sign squares and clicked verify and it just froze. Waited a while, nothing happened. Quit Chrome reopened, went to login to the forum, no problem, reCAPTCHA didn't even appear.

I thought somebody said reCAPTCHA was going to be removed?

I haven't seen it at any time this week, whether logging in to the forum or dashboard. Just been able to log in normally every time.
