A photograph of a Royal Navy auxilliary ship taken by Dean Hoskins and noted by the Scarborough Commercial Photographer appeared in the Sun in a piece about the fight against people smugglers written by Lynn Davidson. The story reveals that a Royal Navy ship and helicopter have been used to combat people smugglers in the Aegean ocean in an attempt to reduce the number of immigrants heading for Europe. The ship (with a wildcat helocopter on board) will be used to assist NATO in spotting smugglers taking migrants to Greece.

Hello community. Forgive me.
Maybe i've lost some steps but someone might do a recap about: how it does to find the sold images in the web?
What'is the right tool to make a search?

For example: my last sold image is Image ID: DP1HH7

details provided: Country: Worldwide/Usage: iQ sale: Magazine, editorial print and digital use, up ...

Now... how i can know, see, finding, where is? What is the media or magazine will be used?
How do you find all record posted here in this topic?

Thank you so much to all . francesco

Francesco,

Sometimes when people are reading online or in print, they will notice the Alamy credit - then they search Alamy using keywords to try to find the image and post links (when available) to both.

Other times, if someone is searching for their own photograph, they will use google images or tineye to do a search by photo. When they find their photo, often there will be other photos credited to Alamy and they are kind enough to share them here on the forum.

Hope that helps.

In addition to Marianne's useful post above, you are probably better to wait for a few weeks before searching with Google reverse image search or Tineye, as their databases are not updated immediately.

Of course, if the image has not been used on the Internet, these search engines will not find it.

If the image has been used in a book and the publisher has credited the photographer, then a Google text search for Alamy and your pseudonym  is sometimes useful.

On many occasions all searches fail, just be happy that you have made a sale!
