mickfly 504
Sunbridge Wells Development, Bradford. Opening March 2016. Hidden away for many years, the vaulted rooms which once hosted the Yorkshire version of Liverpool's Cavern Club, The Little Fat Black Pussy Cat Nightclub, owned by Big Daddy, the local wrestling legend, where Jimi Hendrix, the Moody Blues, Pretty Things and Rod Stewart played after it opened in 1964, were almost completely filled with rubble, until early 2014 when developer Graham Hall and his team started to remove hundreds tons of debris from the tunnels with the vision of creating a vibrant, multi level retail jewel in Bradford's faded crown, following a vision, which he had held for many years after having a sneak peek inside. This privately funded development is expected to open in March 2015, with seven proposed bars and eateries alongside low cost 'new starter' retail units, and also other buildings attached which were derelict and now have a new lease of life. These images show the state of progress, with Victorian style retail units being finished and a steel stairwell which will be glazed over in the central core of the project. With three entrances into this subterranean delight from the main shopping streets of Bradford it promises to be a big catalyst for further improvements to the city.
