Little tip: think a few months ahead to allow magazine editors plenty of time to prepare articles with - hopefully - your pictures, which could relate to an upcoming event or occurrence. Other months' picture series. See here Tikehau (French Polynesia) Click on pictures for a larger view, reference numbers and details. To see more available pictures, click here. LSP 82
Australia's Great Barrier Reef is experiencing an upsurge in tourism due to people wanting to "see it before it's gone". Which of the Great Barrier Reef's >900 islands do you want to visit? These images are from Lizard Island, North West Island, Fitzroy Island, Ribbon Reefs, Family Islands, Agincourt, and Whitsunday Island. Am now based in the region so will be increasing my island-count significantly over the next year. Heaps more Great Barrier Reef island images to be found here! Johnnie5 394
The best time to visit San Francisco is on a weeknight when heavy volume of tourists are gone. Wintertime can also be warmer than the summer due to the persistent summer fog. As Mark Twain said "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."
AlessandraRC 110
Winters is a historic town in Northern California, near Sacramento. It has a number of historic buildings from the Gold Rush era, and an iconic trestle train bridge that now is used by pedestrians only. A great time to go there is the spring, when the orchards around are blooming. A few miles west of Winters, towards the iconic Napa Valley, there is a famous hiking trail, the Blue Ridge trail, that gives spectacular views of the Berryessa dam. On this trail, in the spring, a number of wild native flowers can be found. Downtown has one road, where you can find the famous Buckhorn Steakhouse, the Putah Creek Cafe and a number of wine tasting places.
