Alamy Upload Flash Security

Recommended Posts

Just tried to upload stock images using Firefox on a Mac and got a Flash plugin security warning in the upload files window. Anyone else see it?

Not that message, as I haven't uploaded for a couple of weeks, but I did get a very recent invitation to upgrade my Flash from Adobe a couple of days ago. Until I yielded I couldn't take a better look at the thumbnails in my zoomed images page. A little box popped up with "blocked" message. After upgrading, It needed a restart before things worked again.

The upgrade invitation mentioned security yet again. There seem to be Flash upgrades almost on a monthly basis. Tiresome but we have to go along or find things stop working. There is an option to just let Adobe upgrade automatically, but I'm too wary for that.

my Flash Reader info dates the latest update as July 12  version 18.0.0.203 which seems to replace the vulnerable 18.0.0.194

No. You can allow an exception for MI. Working fine here with FF.

Additionally v18.0.209 is showing as up to date.

Is ftp upload available to everyone now? I don't recall getting any notification of this.

I cannot replicate that blocking in my Firefox 39 with Flash 18.0.0.23 (both current).

Setting Flash to click to play is probably possible:

Make sure you have Flash Player version 18.0.0.23.

Instruction here.

edit: spacecadet is right about version .209 being current.

get it here: https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

The FF warning about Flash being blocked by default has disappeared from the plugin check page since my last post.

If you haven't had the email. probably not, but if FTP appears on the 'upload' dropdown on My Alamy, then you have it.

At least YT is now non-Flash (HTML5) on computers. That surprised me.

FF seems to be happy now.
