Who perseveres with the distributor scheme?

Recommended Posts

I know it's not strictly 'stock' photography, although I think of my extensive back catalogue of personal projects , (and my current work), as my 'stock'. 99% of my income derives from selling this as original (darkroom) prints. I have galleries and dealers to handle this with whom I have agreements. If another gallery or dealer anywhere worldwide has a buyer for one of my prints, they will deal with my regular galleries and split the 50% commission. I still get the same, always. Picture libraries should act in the same manner.

The difference is east to spot. My galleries and dealers look after me as a respected source of income for their business. Stock picture libraries are swamped with stock they get for free so they just look after themselves.
