Have you found any Alamy photographs January 2015

Recommended Posts

So I am not the only one Magners gives a headache, even just 1-2 pints? I used to find the same with Kaliber non-alcoholic beer - used to get a worse hangover with less of it than the real stuff; and no taste either. Only tried both a couple of times with same results each time.

Whilst just searching fro one from 7th January, just found one of mine that Alamy haven't told me about yet!

Sunday Times yesterday

http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/business/Companies/article1508132.ece

Ha ha, I'm still waiting on two which were in the Sunday Times September 2014 and October 2014, neither of which have been recorded as sales. I did contact MS early December and was told they would appear within a month but nothing yet!

Lynne - I had a similar issue, but from usage in a national newspaper back in April 2014. I chased up Alamy just before Christmas, they in turn followed it up with the newspaper and three sales appeared in my account last week!

Incidentally, these three usages were spotted by a contributor on this forum, in a newspaper that I don't have access to, otherwise I'd never have known that there was anything to chase up!  [Thanks Bryan]

There's got to be a better way, surely....?

Cheers Keith, one of the reasons that I do this!

I've just mailed MS over a few of my sales not converting from invoice to sold from mid last year, and one usage not appearing at all.

That's actually not funny Lynne! I've only sold a few and had my first payment this month as my first 3 were about £10 each, so not above the limit.

How can they not be recorded as sales? That's a bit of a worry, mine is showing as zoomed, so I presumed the sale will show tomorrow, but I guess maybe not!

Sorry Chris wasn't trying to upset you, just explain my situation and trying to help with your expectations. A number of UK newspapers are part of the newspaper scheme, where they have an agreement with Alamy meaning they download the images they want and then monthly self bill. This process can take a few months between the newspapers billing and then Alamy issuing invoices and then newspaper payment. I could write loads more about this issue but conscious that this is the Images Found Thread and don't want to clog it up 'off topic'. There have been various other threads on this topic where you'll find more info and as Keith & Bryan mentioned, this is one of the reasons that people take the time and effort to help each other by recording sales here that they search out or come across. For many this is a way of finding out their sales before they appear in their account.

Is the way UK press industry operates with self-invoicing / declaration. Alamy have to wait until the paper reports the use to them, then invoice etc will follow and your reporting... Its not just Alamy before you ask, same with MOST papers AND agencies.... its just some papers are faster than reporting that others..... just be thankful it was not in  The Mail....

(edited as below... i will state that is is the case with the 6 news agencies i work with on a regular basis) .

This should probably go on another thread, but I feel I need to correct your statement that this applies to all papers and agencies. I submitted some images to a news agency in mid December (and to Alamy). The images were used in the national press. I received payment from the other agency into my bank account 2 weeks later. The sales via Alamy? - nothing reported yet. I'm not suggesting that Alamy should be aiming for 2 weeks use to payment, but 2 months for most and 3 months at the outside wouldn't seem unreasonable.
