Sound advice, I'll factor that in. I guess it's hard to invest in someone who doesn't really know what he's doing next. I like doing all sorts of photography that's the problem.

At this stage concentrate on increasing the work that pays would be my advice even if it if seems dull and reptitive.. That way you get to viability sooner. Shoot the other, more speculative, stuff when you can to build your portfolio but be business-like; ask the question (and act on the answer) how will I make money from this.


BTW. Dull and repetitive is purely in the mind and approach - I could get very Zen about it :) . Seek to continue to come to it fresh, to see new possibilities and be creative. The challenge is to make the banal interesting for photographer and client/viewer. All jobs get that way as competence and experience increases.
