Amazing really, in coming back I find that the Alamy search is the only one that still give prefs to older files. I just searched some within my own categories and there are the same as two years back.

Ímages must get placed on commercial value and not in series, etc. Buyers just don't have the time nowadays to wade through irrelevant meterial.

my 2 cents worth.

The search engine gives priority to images from photographers with higher rank. If these happen to be older, that's a by-product of the ranking system, not a deliberate design.

They don't, they always search by the default.. So do you if you were to search an image.

They can search by date taken or most recent

Depends what they are looking for, and how precise they need to be. The Alamy search engine gives those options, so no, I doubt that they do always search by default

well I don't mean anything derogative, the Alamy engine is pretty good actually, old or new images. Although I doubt the ordinary, average buyer will use anything but the default.
