K. L. Howard
I am mostly an editorial entertainment and travel photographer but I enjoy portraits and studio still life as well. I have been with Alamy for a number of years and I really appreciate all they do and the work they put in to help photographers get their images licensed at very competitive earnings. I tried to get a good mix of travel and entertainment shots on my homepage but it's still a work in progress. Take a look at my Alamy Portfolio Homepage and let me know what you think. https://www.alamy.com/portfolio/650714.html
Steve F
Hi Ken, I assume you're asking about the start of your portfolio specifically, rather than your entire collection. It's a really broad question tbh. Are you asking about your choice of images? Well, the Alamy portfolio is for showing to your personal clients. So what sort of images do your personal clients want? Steve Thanks Steve, Yes, I'm only asking about the first page and just general thoughts or critique is all. I usually refer personal clients to my website, but I am changing website domains and thought I'd give the Alamy homepage portfolio a try.
Steve F
Hi Ken, Thanks for clarifying. You could look at adding more subdivisions to your portfolio apart from entertainment, perhaps travel by country or portraits? Your photos look great. Some captions are far too short though. E.g.: clock face - Image ID: 2Y37PNJ Country Music Festival Crowd - Image ID: 2WWTW73 They are also searchable by clients as well as your keywords. Clients on Alamy are usually after editorial images, and want specific subjects and locations. Imagine you're a client on a page of search results. You're maybe going to look at 3 or 4 pages of results so 300-400 images and they hover over your image - they will move swiftly on as the caption doesn't say much. Only comment about some of the concerts with your closeups of the singers, I don't see many images with fans in front of the singers. But I have no idea if these sell or not - presumably you sell a lot of these singer images so you know what works.
