Russell Watkins
For those that use this: Just to let you all know that Amazon UK has the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan in their Black Friday deals (£62.99 for the year) again. I bought it at that price last year and you can renew your subscription using this deal. Two major triggers (Adobe subscriptions and the Amazon hegemony), so I'm sorry about, that but times are hard.
MDM
Thank you. £63 a year is exceptional value for the Adobe package. I paid over £500 for perpetual Photoshop back in the day and I used to pay about £200 every 18 months to stay updated with Photoshop and Lightroom. The ethics should not be an issue really. It's modern life. One doesn't have to like a company to use their services. In order to avoid every company whose ethics we disagree with, we would need to be self-sufficient in food, energy, clothing, communication, transport, money ........ While there are alternatives, I think you can consider the ethics. But in general, I agree.

I agree and I do. However, in this case Adobe is way way ahead of the alternatives when you consider the entire package so I would be subscribing anyway. I use them and they use me. It would be madness not to avail of the offer regardless of what one thinks of Amazon unless one has money to burn. In any case I'm sorted until June 26 😀.
Steve Hyde
I used this offer on a previous Amazon Prime Day and extended my monthly contract with no problems. However I’ve noticed the current product terms show this. Below the first image is a customer review in relation to renewal problems. What I couldn’t find was how long you’re given to activate the product after making your purchase. Edited November 21 by Steve Hyde

What I couldn’t find was how long you’re given to activate the product after making your purchase. This is a case of people not reading the terms and conditions. The person who wrote that clearly did not read what was staring them in the face as you quoted: Auto renew subscription cannot be combined / used to extend with existing Adobe subscriptions or prepaid services. So there are two options: one is for a one-off purchase which is what I did and can be added to an existing subscription and the other is for this apparently new auto-renewal option. If you click on this, it states very clearly that it can't be added to an existing subscription among other things. I read it and figured I don't want to cancel my existing sub which lasted until next June anyway. I guess people are thinking to lock in that price indefinitely but it doesn't say that anywhere that I can see and they will probably keep doing these one-off offers anyway. . I had no problem with the one-off purchase which is what I did last year as well. You get a code which you apply by following the instructions - very straightforward. It simply extends your existing sub by one year. You don't wait until that runs out. Edited November 21 by MDM
M.Chapman
One off purchase worked fine for me earlier today. I redeemed the code here https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/manage-account/using/renew-restart-extend-membership.html whilst logged into my Adobe account and my next monthly payment date shifted to Dec 2025. A bargain IMO. Mark

Kat
I purchased this last year so if I want to buy it again this year, do I choose a 'One time purchase' or 'Auto-renew subscription'? Confused.

Confused. One time purchase. See conversation above. If you choose auto renew you have to cancel your existing subscription. It is confusing but pretty clearly stated in the terms and conditions as well: Auto renew subscription cannot be combined / used to extend with existing Adobe subscriptions or prepaid services. Nick Hatton
Sorry but next question is, will this run ok on my 2013 Mac book pro with 16gb memory ? always used Ellements until now.

Not a chance I'm afraid. You are limited by the hardware and the software. The Adobe apps require fairly modern computers, even more so with the new AI features such as Denoise. Here is a link to the system requiements for the latest version of Photoshop.

This is why some of us (probably not many lol) are still on LR5.7 and CS2. I inherited a 2013 iMac; LR5 runs on Catalina 10.15 ([probably where you are?) but I have to spark up the Win7 PC for CS2. The modern stuff I do without, but I wouldn't be renting software anyway. Edited November 24 by spacecadet
Steve F
Thanks a lot Russell. Just to clarify, you redeem the code through Adobe Creative Cloud, not directly though the Adobe standard site you're logged into. There's a link to it in the email from Amazon with the redemption code. Edited November 24 by Steve F
