How One Photo Changed Perception

I remember that moment and photo well.  I did change the trajectory of women's soccer (football).   Women and girls playing soccer really took off in America.  I coached for two years, my daughter's school team, when she was 12 and 13.  We had plenty of girls who wanted to play, and it is cherished time in my life.

Interesting article on the BBC

Hopefully the overseas contingent can find it

Here

I did hear the BBC radio story when they interviewed the photographer.  Good story for women's sports and photography...

Is S-I still even in print?

Yes, it is still in print, but published monthly rather than weekly, as it used to be.

Out of that, the thing that I can't get my head around is a coach telling someone to take a pen with their non dominant foot. The mind boggles. Why? Crazy! 😖

A World Cup final as well, pretty brave to put that added pressure on the taker

As it worked I guess they could call it genius
