All of my 2,621 images on sale are 'Images on Sale with Poor Discoverability'

Derek_nb

Question

I am a long term contributor. My images all have 'Poor Discoverability'. I can't get my head around what would make them 'Good or Optimized Discoverability'. I have not looked at the problem in detail but I would appreciate any pointers to what I should be looking at.

It's been suggested it's not necessary to bring the discoverability into the green. Many of my photos are in the "orange" but I just make sure tags are relevant.

others are atop this more than I, mate...

but try a test, IMO....

double or triple the # of appropriate keywords for a few-several of your images;

then wait for overnight system refresh;

now see if those images got "upgraded"

but some posts in this thread may report discoverability don't relate to sales...?

Pretty sure that you win points towards the green end by filling in the optional fields, as well as 40+ keywords and probably a good contingent of supertags. I don't know if it changes live in front of your eyes or whether you have to wait until the server has done its work. Have a go and see. Even Alamy don't suggest that you have to slavishly strive to make it turn green though though they would encourage you to fill in the optional fields, particularly people and proerty.

There's also this video of the Webinar in the Summer with Clemency Wright:

I don't think that Clemency Wright was really talking about discoverability in the sense of the green bar, not specifically anyway. In fact she ran out of time before dealing with the Optional tab anyway.

All but a handful of mine are poor discovery but I think the keywords are mostly relevant which I think is more of a necessity. I stopped filling in the optional section too. I spend as little time on uploads as possible now given the downward spiral of fees.

Mine are  too and I make regular sales. (Umm not this droughtful month though!). No more optional info from me either.

Relevant keywords are important (and compound keywords) . You can get it into the green by putting 50 full stops as your keywords... so it's simply a counter!
