1950s USA smart couple

Even the debonair pipe clenched between his teeth. Then she has posed her legs, one behind the other, in the suggested way of the times. Although she carried it a bit too far & almost looks like she has one leg. 😁

Williamsburg, Virginia

I could be wrong, but that looks like a street lamp. It might be one that George Washington's carriage driver used to find the way home in Mount Vernon. My tech history is a little shaky.

I'm just being silly, sorry Ian. Washington lived in Philadelphia when he ran things. 🙃

Geno Washington was stationed near here at USAF Bentwaters in the 1960s.

I think that's where my brother was stationed in the '50s.

Interesting that your brother was here in Suffolk.

The Americans left a couple of years before I moved here which was 1993.  There are still two US bases in Suffolk at Lakenheath and Mildenhall.

This is the Cold War museum at Bentwaters and the man talking is an American who stayed on.

My brother visited me in Summer Town Oxford in the '80s. I drove him up to visit his old base but all I remember is it was North East of Oxford. Most of the '80s I lived in Woodstock and Charlton-on-Otmoor.
