Selling DSLR gear - advice please!

Recommended Posts

Also, auctions (e.g. ebay) are (in most cases) the best way to sell at over-inflated prices. The only loser is the winner of an auction. One-to-one negotiations are more difficult, so selling prices are often lower (eg. a forum-based sell).

Another alternative would be to list your gear on Ebay, Craig's list or whatever then let the good people on this forum know what you are selling and where it is.

agreed! i sell car based stuff, and always post up to tell people its on ebay, and link to it. that way, your giving people you may know well from forums a chance, but also letting the rest of the market decide the price you may garner.

most forums / clubs seem to have a "ebay links" forum, at least ones for cars.

Personally would use eBay. Have only had good experiences both as buyer and seller. Had a bad experience with Gumtree so I would not use them again.

Still contemplating all of the above advice, but just spotted a company called "We Buy Any Camera". Thought the title was rather dubious but noticed it's actually run by Wilkinsons Cameras which I believe has a pretty good reputation. Has anyone tried this option for selling and/or part exchange?

Cheers

John
