Right & Wrong - Search Results for a Picture - & new Game?

Recommended Posts

I have days where I am looking down the Alamy Measures search results for my images; and I know none of those search strings could possibly sell MY pictures. The search engine seems to have become desperate to find something! And out of that algorithmic desperation pops one of my pictures, that has the keywords but not really the content, certainly not my understanding of the probable meaning of the search words intent!

I thought it might make a fun game; the oddest correct and yet incorrect result for an Alamy search? I can't even think of a good title for such a game, maybe someone else can.  Let me show a couple of very recent examples that may make the idea a bit clearer.

Search string : cycling in the dark [LU]

Result

a-man-in-levi-jeans-and-a-tee-shirt-back

Why? one of my tags reads 'dark tee shirt' and that is the only reference to the dark. And it's not a super tag.

This game might even help Alamy improve their search algorithm - What do you think? It, the game, needs a better title, and people who would like to play.

Search string: Space Station Wall

Result

escalator-at-an-acute-angle-with-exposed

Page one, All, Relevant; lots of stations not much 'Space'  certainly not my idea of Space as a kid!

Escalator at an acute angle with exposed tile walls, a blank space where posters have been removed from a yellow painted at Kings Cross Station Sydney - Image ID: 2BGKH0G

I've had much odder Wrong, yet Correct pictures turn up - those are the ones I think would be the most fun to see. Who wants to play? Anyone?

Bonus - most likely will shine a light on underrepresented subjects here on Alamy.

My most amusing was this zoom I had for a medieval woman,  caption and key words said "woman standing on a medieval bridge" model (wife) not at all impressed 😂

I expect a few chaps on the forum are thinking..."I wouldn't have told her...."

Nice picture mind.
