Austria - red 'Tabak Trafik' sign on the left

Thought to be not far from Innsbruck. These village parish churches are a nightmare!

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Ian, your luck's in. I asked my badminton club in Lower Austria. And one of them asked a friend in Innsbruck. And they mentioned Amras. I've had a look at Google Maps, pretty sure this is it:

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Pfarrkirche+Amras/@47.2597998,11.4295417,191m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x479d693977dee851:0x3f5c5af97e6d0c83!2sPfarrkirche+Amras!8m2!3d47.2595298!4d11.4290306!16s%2Fg%2F11h3ldtm92!3m5!1s0x479d693977dee851:0x3f5c5af97e6d0c83!8m2!3d47.2595298!4d11.4290306!16s%2Fg%2F11h3ldtm92?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTAyOS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

View is probably from somewhere along Philippine-Welser-Straße

EDIT: maybe not. Tower looks wrong. I'll see if I get any other suggestions...

Thanks SO much but I don't think that it's right. I've been searching through quite a few villages and finding similar 'answers' but the arrangement on the tower has turned out to be wrong -  I mean the sequence and appearance of the various features above and below the clock and the clock itself.

Here's another contender... (sorry about the glare - wouldn't pass QC ! )

This is the ...   Pfarrkirche Volders

The sequence of elements at the top of the spire look ok, and the frontages to the buildings near left look similar.

The street in the google shot looks somewhat more modern however.

Cheers

Nice one!   I think you have it there Steve.

The little driveway into the front of the church with the sign with what looks like Jesus on the crucifix - i think nails it.

Plus the Tabak sign in the original image and on the vintage shop sign on the facade now. Street view.

Interesting itinerary. They're not going from Innsbruck to Munchen or the other way around, because you would want Murnau; Oberammergau and Garmisch Partenkirchen as stops or even Neuschwanstein as either a detour or a destination. So it may have been Salzburg or even Vienna they're coming from or going to.

Yeah, the lower arched window has like a white frame around it with some architectural detail poking out at the top on the original. And the white paint going down each corner of the tower is crenellated in the original too. Both these features missing from the Kolsass church.

I'm wondering if it has been altered. The shutter-like construction beneath the clock looks a bit battered.

The picture is from the 1950s

It is very very similar. I'm currently in a heated discussion with my contact in Austria about whether it is the right one or not. The wall, roof, Jesus crucifix all look ok. The white on the tower is probably painted, not an actual pattern in the construction. Tabak is still in the same location.

Wim's article says it was restored in 1962/63.

Got to be the right one. All the windows/doors behind the crucifix line up with what I can see on Google Maps.
