Harvey was a close friend. Some of you probably were in his book store in Soho, Lower Manhattan.

Do any of you know his cause of death?

Thank you.

Loved that book store but didn't know anyone associated with it, including you sadly.

This was what replaced Harvey's shop after he closed.

I was working at People mag then, still trying to recover from Black Monday.

A lot of celebs came into Harvey's -- I waited on Barbra Streisand, Terrance Stamp, Joel Grey, Richard Gere, Pia Lindstrom and most of the big name photogs of the day.

People used to be very reluctant to admit to cancer. There was a kind of stigma. Now we wear "survivor" T-shirts. A big improvement in our attitude.

There is a death time stamp on dementia. As the brain deteriorates, it has a hard time regulating the body functions that keep us alive. When the tipping point happens, one is not too long for this world. Of course, you all probably know there are several types of dementia. Some move faster than others, with more devastating effects.

An article about the closing of his photography bookshop:

This reminds me that the closing of beloved small stores is not a new thing in NYC. Two places are closing at the end of this month. One is a shoe store on Bleecker with unique shoes from around the world. He has been there for 31 years and he made it through Covid with help from the landlord but business has not come back sufficiently. Another is a gift store in Hell's Kitchen where I could fine unusual and beautiful Christmas gifts. They made it through Covid but some of their business came from business people on lunch hours but a lot of people work from home now and theater business hasn't helped yet either.

It's the same here, Paulette. And it was the same in Saville. Lets be grateful we don't live in North Carolina. I have a nephew living there.

Oh my. I hope your nephew is OK. Such a disaster in a place that usually seems safe from the fury of nature.
