Stacked macro images

Are stacked images processed in photoshop or other popular programs accepted, or are they considered as over processed?

I wouldn't consider it over processing, in some macro shots it is required to increase the depth of field a bit.

All mine have been accepted but I only generally use 2 to 3 shots

They're accepted if they pass QC.

All mine, mostly insect or plant portrait shots, have been accepted without problems.  I'm very careful with my own QC on the stacked images and don't submit anything with the slightest hint of movement and always crop to remove the blurred margins that are inevitable with stacks in Photoshop.
