Harry Harrison
Looks to be a MkII Type F, manufactured from 1959 and seemingly replaced by the FB Series which was announced in September 1960. https://www.classicandsportscar.ltd.uk/vauxhall-victor-mkii-f-series-de-luxe/classic-cars-sold/10190

Harry Harrison
I don't think that my father knew a lot about cars but he did know that Vauxhalls (of that era) would always rust out, and surprisingly quickly. That's hard to shake off, I've never been anywhere close to buying a Vauxhall.

But then, it's not a Vauxhall😉

That's hard to shake off, I've never been anywhere close to buying a Vauxhall. Back in the 60's before Japanese cars became popular, Vauxhalls and other small British cars were common in Canada. I owned several -- MG Midget, Mini Cooper S, and a Hillman Minx -- when I lived in Montreal. I remember that my High School English teacher drove a Vauxhaul, and I would say that it was at least 80% rust. Somehow he kept it going. Teachers didn't get paid much in those days. 🙃 Edited August 17 by John Mitchell
Harry Harrison
I suppose I should say that I'm sure that all current Vauxhalls are probably great and that no manufacturers' profits were dented by my car buying habits, all were at least 10 years old except the current VW that was 9 years old when I bought it and has now just turned 21! Fabulous car.

My dad had exactly the same opinion. Mind you, our first car was a Vauxhall - but that was only because it was given to us. And it was mostly rust. This was in the days before MoT tests.
