Jeffrey Isaac Greenberg
Europeans smoking in public – sells editorially?? I don’t include smokers in images where smoking is NOT primary subject. In US its getting rarer to come up against this in public. But it was quite common during my 2024 Mediterranean itinerary. Do editorial including smokers but not featuring smoking sell outside US? How do Euro-based non-released editorial shooters handle this? (yes, some of my Euros smoking will be primarily about smoking) I have a number of salable images of Euros but including one or more smokers -- will they llicense or did I waste time with these...? spacecadet
I think they may have some uses when those countries have campaigns about banning smoking indoors/in public or wherever. But as you suggest, prominently featuring smokers in an image will probably restrict its non-smoking-related editorial market. Smoking is no longer part of the scenery. Incidentally when you refer to "Euros", in common parlance I for one immediately think of the currency rather than the people. spacecadet
EU national, EU citizen covers that. Euro with a hyphen (or without) for something EU or Europe related. And the soccer championship- used to be UEFA and still is but get called the "Euros".

Progeny
Yes, European editorial images featuring smokers can still sell outside the US, as smoking is more common in European imagery I currently vape Lost Mary MO 20000 Pro, so I understand the nuances of different smoking habits. Just ensure your images have relevant contexts and check local model release requirements for any commercial use.
