Popular Post Phil Robinson
I don't come to the forum much but I recently responded to a thread about camera settings. In response I was treated to a lecture about what I was doing wrong and the importance of dynamic range and suchlike. I then noticed that the person offering the 'advice' had nearly twice as many posts on the forum as pictures on Alamy. I can't help thinking that some people (mentioning no names) might do better going out and taking more photographs of things and maybe spend less time discussing why they aren't making enough money. Just a thought. Edited November 28 by Phil Robinson 2

Maybe you might have named him, or quoted him, he has been a valuable and valued contributor to this forum for as long as I've been on here. Mr Standfast
Perhaps we could just park this here and stick with moaning about fees.

I've seen a bit of an overall uptick since measures working again, but still pretty bad unless I get a late flurry today. But I live in eternal hope as a stock photographer that the next sale will be a 'big one'... 🫡

Do you tell the forum when the fee clears? Do you tell the forum when it's paid and in the bank? Do you just keep quiet and nod wisely when someone else hits $$$$? The fear of jinxing the big one is palpable! I've had one big on, a few years back now. Nothing special, just a country pub. It has now sold twice, once for $$$$(net!) and once for $. It left me me wondering what the value of a picture is. I'm off to take some snaps now. Have a good one kids. 🦔 1

A few sales this month, nothing exciting and the prices are so poor now. I have about 50 images to caption and keyword and probably a couple of hundred waiting to be uploaded. I’ll do all that then I’m taking a break for a few months. Recently joined a photo club and enjoy taking part in the competitions. No money to be made but more fun than flogging away at captioning and keywording pictures that may or may not sell. I’m under no illusions about my port. I guess 95%+ will probably never sell, no one to blame for that but myself. Edited November 29 by Dave Richards Added text

Good to know. My gross is higher the last couple of years but only through 'struggle'. The situation is precarious and dependent, in my view, on continuing ongoing struggle to explore additional income streams.
