Great shot.  Love the horse in the centre where all four feet are off the ground.

Thank you for that Jill.

I can't wait for this spring and summer to arrive so I can photograph more of the same, just for the pure joy of it.

Thanks Paulette!

I think I posted this video (not mine) of a full race last year. It's worth a look if you haven't seen it before.

What fun. I grew up in San Diego when it was more of a cow town than it is now. We little ones would be put up on a horse bareback and told to hold on to the mane. Then we would be walked slowly around. Later I did graduate to being able to ride in a nice comfortable western saddle. There were Indian reservations nearby but I don't remember them having any events. When I was grown up and living in New York I would visit my folks in Lakeside. It is a rodeo town and I would try to be there for the rodeo. I knew the town would be ruined when I didn't see kids riding bareback down the streets anymore. The western stores with clothing and tack disappeared so you had to take the freeway to the Boot Barn. Not the same. The Indians became more prosperous when they were allowed to have gambling casinos. We liked to go to one for dinner because they would let my stepmom smoke inside. Not many pesky rules from the Indians and the clothing outlets didn't have to charge sales tax. Sometimes I do miss the West.

In Oklahoma, although we lived in town we owned 10 acres in the country. There was a horse barn, water & electricity. We owned 7 horses at different times, the first two mares always, and the filly & colt from them plus ponies for the kids. A beautiful dapple gray stallion we shortly sold after he tried to kill me.  Riding every weekend was so fun. I wouldn’t trade that time for anything.

Wow! An amazing sight...

Could be one of a number French-language TV channels in Quebec.

It was totally unexpected and unplanned. We were camping and sitting under the awning when the Milky Way appeared neatly framed in the only tree opening. I have a timelapse of it. I remember vividly because in my haste, I couldn't remember how to set up the intervalometer, so I used it manually. I counted aloud 1-2-3-4-5 one hundred and ninety five times. Hubby fell asleep...

Such patience you have, but it was well worth it.

Not really. Because I was using the intervalometer manually, sometimes I left the interval a fraction of a second too long. Result: flicker. It might be possible to correct but am not ready right now to get into video editing. When I'm retired. Wait...
