I also put this in the Images Sold thread, but yesterday I had a sale of a pic of Andy Murray. Alamy measures showed the search and that the sale had come from that search (blue background) so the search and purchase were clearly done on the Alamy site, yet the pic credit I found was "PA Images." I got about 50p

You'd think they could at least credit appropriately - if the company that owns Alamy can't then is there any hope elsewhere?

I saw one of my pictures in 5 newspapers. I did not know what syndication was. After reading through this thread I do. Got 0.15 gross!

Does surprise me that people continue to submit. I came to my senses a while ago and stopped shooting for stock.

I probably should rephrase - haven't gone out with the intention of shooting stock for a long time now, but still some recent uploads from recent travels or older collections that happened to be useful for stock.  Interestingly had a high $$ come through late Oct which I haven't had for a little while. And it's always the ones I never expect.

Well yes that is why we keep going at it I guess. There is always the pleasure of a decent fee and an unexpected sale. Also the enjoyment of the job despite the c rap fees and treatment we often complain about.

PA *employ* photographers, so they credit their employees when their image is used, whereas we are freelance contributors. I guess that is the difference .....

The difference is that PA Media is in this instance an Alamy client. That is what raises the questions about the potential misuse of their owner relationship of Alamy at the cost to us as contributors.

 

Let's accept that this has been a trial and that Alamy will review the deal as promised.

Being Novel yes, But there is nothing in the agreement stoping Alamy to do such a deal and call it "Normal", they have in the past.   I have a few sales that were for syndicated release and appear over and over for one low fee, though none as low as what they gave to their parent company

I've had the pleasure of this agreement today, of a protest placard image stating 'Trans rights are human rights'. No mention of photographers rights.
