I thought maybe Steve’s fabulous cable car was going to catch me and beat me to the top, but my two aging peddle pushers zipped on up the summit. Alfresco will be July’s challenge. Alfresco is a word in English, not Italian. It is based on two Italian words, al and fresco. For the challenge, please think: alfresco dining or drinking. Italians use the expression al and fresco to mean ‘in the cool’. They say mangiare fuori to refer to outdoor dining. And in this challenge, I’m not referring to fresco painting. Good luck to all! Congratulations Edo, no doubt the best image won. Yours had my vote. An excellent choice for the next challenge, although it has highlighted a huge hole in my portfolio. Not in Merrie Olde? Yes they don't intend to offend but some people do find it offensive. According to their web site the idea is to "Colour the face - to disguise dancers and musicians." The history of Morris dancing apparently included begging for money when some degree of anonymity was felt desirable.
