On the flip side, that is only 157 sales per day total across several thousand of their contributors. A few people make regular sales, but not many. I don't think it's an undiscovered pot of gold waiting at the end of a rainbow.

I wasn't suggesting that it was a pot of gold! Just pointing out that better averages are possible.

And suggesting that Alamy are possibly not getting the best that they could especially in the area of PU usages!

Yup! I have had four sales to date with that POD site for an average of £19/sale. Joined them Christmas last year.

 

Only 344 pictures with them too. Not put any photos with them for some time now. Must get going again.

Here is my per sale average over the years. Not what used to be, but still holding well compared to others. Total average of my entire alamy "career" = $66.67, exactly 2/3 of a Benjamin. 😎

High $111 (2011), low $24 (last year), this year $32, lifetime (since 2009) $42. Till this year it had been declining about 15-20%/year since 2014.

I am now pretty much ignoring my income from Alamy as it is down to 15% of turnover. It occasionally pays for a small beano.

its interesting isnt it - ive only looked at my most recent years, 

 

21 year to date          $ 30.75

2020                           $ 15.10- record year for number of sales but so many low ones

2019                           $ 25.40

2018                            $25.56

2017                            $ 36.13

2016                            $ 35.10

 

my expectation going forwards is holding an average gross of $30 is the best i can expect- hence why my uploads have declined somewhat

I joined similar time - and my average gross is $30.10
