Potential infringement

Question

I reported a potential infringement to Alamy.

I found one image of mine at:
https://rumahmigran.com/2020/01/24/mengirim-uang-dari-luar-negeri-ke-indonesia-itu-mudah/

It´s the photo of North Korean bank notes

Got a reply that they cannot or will not do anything. They only chase infringements in

UK

US

Canada

Europe

Australia

India

So what can I do...

Find the image in PicoCreek's portfolio, and report that.

That´s just what I did. And Alamy will not do anything about this. That´s what they replied to me.

Thanks a lot Wim! Seems I´ve got a lot of work to do...

If the sales are something like 0.10 $ per image, it is no wonder Alamy is not interested in chasing these possible infringements...

And if they're a legit client it may well take a year for them to report.

I'm not sure I understand.  I assume it's this image - M62PJW, credited to PicoCreek.  You say you found the image in his/her portfolio and reported it to Alamy.  So are you saying that this image is in fact yours and that it is PicoCreek who is infringing copyright?

I removed Indonesia from the distribution list. Perhaps there´s nothing else to do.

Alamy is simply informing you of the reality. You have no chance of chasing infringements in the majority of the world's countries.

When I get my Pixsy matches I just go through and click 'Ignore' on the majority because they are in jurisdictions beyond copyright.

It's just the way the world is.

A list of those countries could be useful. I´d like to remove them from my distribution list and I know Alamy can´t publish such a list.

Check the jurisdiction covered by a company sich as Pixsy.  I was surprised that even Ireland wasn't covered.

Limiting distribution won't stop thieves. They just take screengrabs of anything that they want.
