A Windrush Crusade protest in St Peter's Square, Manchester, uk. The protest draws attention to those people, especially from Caribbean countries, who were wrongly detained, denied legal rights, threatened with deportation, and, in at least 83 cases, wrongly deported from the uk by the Home Office. The protest is asking the uk Government for uk citizenship for those denied it, compensation for those mistreated and law reform to prevent this happening again. I arrived at the cordon in the city centre that day, was turned back, and went to the Central Library, which is enormous and half a mile away. The building shook when the bomb went off. June 15, 2019, marks the 23rd anniversary of the IRA bomb which devastated the city centre of Manchester uk in 1996. This postbox on Corporation Street remained standing and bears a memorial plaque to mark this. The brass plaque carries the inscription: "This postbox remained standing almost undamaged on June 15, 1996 when this area was devastated by a bomb. The box was removed during the rebuilding of the city centre and was returned to its original site on November 22nd 1999". The bomb injured some 200 people. Trouble is if I do not achieve said sale for a reasonable fee by the 23rd July I will be going down to 20% and have to pull my port and say "Goodby" to all the lovely people on these forums.
