I have a NEX6 and I've tried an X-T1 but they can't come near it for quality.

Intrigued by your conclusion, not tried either though I have an X-Pro1 and X-E1 so certainly familiar with the Fuji 16.3MP sensor, on paper the Nex-6 seems to be avery similar spec to the X-T1. Would that be build quality, dynamic range, AF? Just curious, as I say, haven't tried the Sony.

Just looked again at reviews of the 16-80 f4 Fuji lens, underwhelming, but then so are those of the Nikon 16-80 DX and it seems the Sony/Zeiss 16-70 is very poor. For me I'd be happy if Fuji made a high quality 16-55 f4 zoom with IS & weather-sealing to match the excellent Canon, the seemingly excellent 16-55 f2.8 is faster, and so bigger than is ideal for me.

Thanks, actually I hadn't realised that the NEX-6 and X-E1 both came out in September 2012 and were direct competitors so there are plenty of comparisons around, the XT-1 came out a full 18 months later. Personally I'm wedded to the external dials on the Fujis and I suspect that, because they don't do full frame, they might put more into developing excellent APS-C lenses but who knows. The 18-55 f2.8/4 zoom is very good indeed but apart from that I like to use film era primes on my X-Pro1 & X-E1.
