I hope you don't mind, but I just clicked on your image number to get an idea of what you are photographing, and noticed an error in your lizard identification towards the bottom of the first page - Image W5AD6B - it is actually a sand lizard (Lacerta agilis). I recognised it straightaway as I am a reptile surveyor and we have them in my area of southern England. Thank you! They are hard to differentiate for the non-specialist - I was looking at its dorsal markings, which seem to match the Wikipedia description. This was on top of a hill in a lush green pasture, though - no sand for miles - is that a likely habitat for your creature? Alex

Cryptoprocta
4 hours ago, M.Chapman said: Wasn't helped by a PU sale that was refunded. Hi res download for free? Or did they really think they were buying a box of tablets? Mmmm... It's perfectly possible. I had several PU sales of photos of tablets refunded. After it was suggested here on the forum that people thought they were getting the actual meds*, I contacted support who told me that happens often, and not just with meds - PU sales are made to people who think they're buying a product. At that point, I wrote in the caption or 'additional information' of all my meds pics, "This is a stock photo of medicine, not the medicine itself" or somesuch rubric and I haven't had such a sale again(so far). Probably these buyers did not download the image, hopefully Alamy would be able to see that - that for sure would be an indication that they didn't understand the sale. I suspect most of Joe Public have never heard of 'stock photos'. Certainly when I mention 'what I do' to people I meet, they haven't a clue, and I explain it in terms of some of the big news names that they have usually heard of, then push that out to other uses. *I'm sure many people who live in countries which don't have free prescription medicine are desperate enough to risk paying a low price, even from a company not known for reliability in sales of medicine. Maybe they just see Alamy has a generally good reputation without looking at the details. Maybe English isn't their first language.

Alex Although in the UK they are restricted to coastal dunes and sandy heaths, they are in more variable habitats in the south of their range, including grasslands. They would need a few bare patches to lay their eggs. The green flanks on your lizard identify it as a male sand lizard in peak breeding condition. Reimar
Quite a mixed bag above. For me, I had a mediocre month - 18 sales for $554 gross/$207 net. Even my other "experiment" is tanking, with only $150 net this month. It makes me scratch my head in wonder.

I imagine that August and July (which were similar in terms of increased sales and revenue) were probably anomalies. However, I'm thinking that certain clients may now be asking Alamy for exclusive images, and I've been benefiting from this for whatever reasons. At any rate, it will be interesting to see if the upward trend continues. It's great to be on a roll, but ups are often followed by downs, as the responses in this monthly thread always demonstrate. One has to be realistic about these matters. 🧐 Edited September 1, 2019 by John Mitchell

Interesting to me is that your net Alamy income is the same as mine, but over at that evil other place you have more than twice my net income. Maybe it's video. Maybe I just need to wait for my Port' to "mature".
