No sales, no zooms, no views

Recommended Posts

Since 1 week i'm having 0 for sales, zooms ...no views at all!

I'm a bit worried... am i banned or did something wrong my ranking decreased a lot?

Anyone having the same behaviour?

It's the first time in about 3 yrs on Alamy something like that is happening.

CTR is a bit above average

I have been an Alamy contributor for more than 10 years and have 4,530 photos uploaded to Alamy. I have had only one $20 sale in the last few months. Alamy currently owes me some money and has not collected on it. The number of zooms on my account is decreasing. I wonder if Alamy is going out of business?

Ciao, Lorenzo

That sounds very strange. If the situation does not improve in a day or two, you should contact contributors@alamy.com

Bite your lip, TLK!  Zooms were down for a few months but they have climbed back up recently. My sales are consistent with what can be expected. Most of my collection is of NYC, but I shoot only editorial stock. Most of what I see of yours is News. Could this be your problem?

Edo, news? Which images are you referring to?

I too had zooms falling down but as said in other posts here i never relied on zooms since the beginning of Alamy (they say nothing)

Alamy Measures hasn't updated since Thursday morning last week, see the discussion here.  This means that views and zooms are being reported as unusually low for the past seven days, though I would say that is slightly odd that you should have no views at all in that period. No doubt Measures will update at some point.  No sales at all in a one week period is not so unusual on a portfolio of your size so I would not be panicking on that score.

If you mean you have an uncleared balance, then Alamy haven't been paid by the publisher, so it's they who owe, not Alamy.

Alamy is not going out of business.

That was aimed at TLK, not you, Lorenzo.

A third of my zooms end up as sales.

I think it depends upon several factors. Mine is about 1 sale per 3 zooms which i think is mainly due to minimal keywording -not a single file meets the Alamy Green standard and also the specialist nature of the collection which only attract those who are looking for a specific file. Very often because of the specialist nature there is only 1 or 2 zooms on the file anyway. That said a specialist collection with Alamy yields considerably less than a specialist collection with a specialist agency!

That's a pretty good hit rate. I'd say I'm more like 1 in 8 or 1 in 10.

Almost exactly 3:1 main pseudo, 2:1 for my much better performing archive pseudo, which, incidentally, or not, has personal use turned off.

Just to repeat: Alamy Measures has been broken since the 7th, so NO ONE is seeing any views reported. There are several threads covering this: Alamy say they are fixing it, but don't hold your breath.

Sales included? :)

Hi KODAKovic, I've had 6 sales so far this month, including after the 7th when measures seems to have stopped working.

Hi TLK, I'm not sure the future for the stock business as a whole looks great, but no, Alamy are not going out of business :)

Which insights could you show to say this?
