How was your January?

Recommended Posts

I'll kick this off.

In my case 15, no refunds nor distributors. HIghest $150.  Zooms died immediately after holiday break but slowly climbing again.

No. leases and gross income almost spot on average for last year.  Trundling along

High in quantity, extremely low in values. 26 for $298. Only one month in the last twelve was as low as that.

Much better than December which was the low point of the year.

No refunds (yet)!

Zooms are on the up.

To sum it up: better start to the year than anticipated.

Same as October, November, December - zip.

But I did only have 300 images until a recent upload of another 100, so still on a small portfolio :)

Sort of average start to the year for me. 6 for $252 for which one was $$$ - I'm holding my breath!! Views up at 6497 and zooms at 25. CTR crashed at the end of the month due to all embracing search words covering my key area - as many views here as I've had for complete months in the past!

I had 15 sales which is about average for me. One just under $200, the rest a mixture of newspaper and magazine sales. The downside is that this is the first month I haven't reached the threshold for an Alamy payment in over 5 years! A sign of the times!!

17 sales for $449 gross. Another 'Best Month Ever' for me, with lots of small value sales making up the numbers and one $$$ sale making up about 40% of the total $

Not good! 3 sales for $33 gross. The Telegraph used the same image twice (web and print) and actually paid for both. Like others I also had a Chinese distributor sale for microstock fee. While views are down at least zooms began to pick up in the last 10 days

Another poor month. 7 sales for a total of $56.89 net.

If you sell for near-micro prices, and increasing the commission you take for selling, you need to provide near-micro volume, and that's nowhere near happenintg.

14 for $231. Nine of those coming in the end of month (newspaper prices) sunami for a measly $72. As months go I've had worse, sadly.

6 for $118 gross. Zooms not too bad in the end. Annoyingly didn't reach threshold for payment due to several reasonable sales not clearing when they should have.

18 sales for $505 gross. On the low side of average for me, but overall better than expected after a very slow start to the month. First month since I withdrew from PU sales, too - not yet sure whether that has had an impact.

Only 3 but compared to some a reasonable return 175 and only 6 zooms as well and from a small port.

42 sales.  Only 3 months were better in the rolling year but values were disappointingly low, only 2 months were worse in the rolling year.  One sale for $52 refunded and resold for $18.  Not encouraging to to put it mildly!!!

A poor month with 11 sales for $227 gross.

No $$$ sales which is becoming the norm for my portfolio.

Average month with 23 sales for $522.  No $$$ sales - but I very rarely get those.  79 zooms for a CTR of 1.10.  Highlight of the month was 6 of the sales coming from images taken in my own garden.  Negligible costs involved :)
