  1. Hey guys, So I've got this picture with a smart looking tree in the background. Taken in springtime in Austria. And I don't have the faintest idea what kind it is so I can keyword it!! Has anyone got any ideas what it is? Steve p.s. I took some closeups with my mobile but can't seem to add them here because they're not online. Leaves are oval shaped, but then taper to have pointy ends.
  2. Hi! I just joined Alamy as a US based contributor 1-2 days ago. The website seems nice, they claim to have a couple(kidding, more than 2mil) million stock photos, but I still have some issues, so I'll put them in bullet points; If Alamy is so big, why do they have so few US based reputable clients? Dailymail.co.uk uses them, but few others do. Compared to [redacted], which seems universal in size and scale, Alamy seems basically like a small company (Chrome even marks Alamy as a typo!!) What are your average sales? I'm not asking price, that might be too much, just average sale volume (eg. 1000 licenses/month) With (supposedly) 90 million images, how do mine ever have a chance at being discovered? Just like YouTube and many other growing platforms of this size and scale, discoverability seems impossible.
  3. Hi to all, i am new to this site. Photography has been a hobby for a long time and has started to consume my life more and more recently. Now i am getting invited to places and offered money to take pictures and i am still getting use to it all. Stock is a new subject for me and I am selling in Shutterstock rather successfully for last few month. I was advised to sign up also here. I have uploaded over 300 pictures but have zero response and starting to give up hope... any advice to a newby? what am i missing? i appreciate any input thank you in advance best katie
