  1. Hey all, it's about a year ago that I made my first submission to Alamy. With over 6000 photos online and with only a few sales yet I'm thinking about improving keywords and captions. Do you have any ideas what I can do better, should avoid or what mistakes I should definitely correct? Please note that I have already read the guides on keywording on Alamy. Or do I just need more patience? Cheers, Caspar
  2. Hi, I have been an Alamy contributor for a few years but feel I may be missing out on something. At present, I write each tag on my images individually, except if there are several similar images. I don't use the keywords in Bridge or Photo Mechanic, which I believe I could do and may speed my submission process. Please can you tell me am I right, and if so how do I go about it for each of the two programmes? Many thanks Kevin
  3. Need some help with this one, any ideas as to how i should describe and keyword this image? This man describes himself as the chief engineer for the pier, every month at low tide he, and usually an apprentice go round clearing rubbish, nets, plastic, etc. tangled on the pillars and clear as much as they can before the tide comes in. TIA
  4. Im sure this has been covered but i can't really find an answer quickly. If I'm uploading a few pictures that are similar is there any way I can copy and paste my tags onto more than one photo at a time?
  5. When preparing images for upload I develop RAW files in LR5.7 and finish them as TIFFs in PS CS2. I prefer to add tags at this stage, rather than when the image has passed QC. I keep a spreadsheet with details of every image with caption, tags etc. In the spreadsheet I separate the tags using commas, and multi-word tags with Quotation marks and commas. When I copy and paste the tags into the "keywords" box in PS CS2, all is well until I "OK" the file properties box to close it. Then PS CS2 instantly removes my quotation marks, and turns the commas to semi colons. The semi-colons seem to work like commas as tag separators so single word tags are OK. Tags with more than one word lose their quotation marks become single tags and have to be corrected later. I am at loss to know why PS CS2 does this, especially as, immediately below the "keywords box" is the text "commas can be used to separate keywords"! Can anyone help please?
  6. I think with a lot of keywording we write is one of the best ways to boost the image search, if it is correct please someone help me and is an example of my image http://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-traditional-farmers-of-paddy-east-java-indonesia-83577647.html?p=226185&srch=foo%3dbar%26st%3d0%26sortby%3d3%26qt%3deast%2520java%26qt_raw%3deast%2520java%26qn%3d%26lic%3d3%26mr%3d0%26pr%3d0%26aoa%3d1%26creative%3d%26videos%3d%26nu%3d%26ccc%3d%26bespoke%3d%26apalib%3d%26ag%3d0%26hc%3d0%26et%3d0x000000000000000000000%26vp%3d0%26loc%3d0%26ot%3d0%26imgt%3d0%26dtfr%3d%26dtto%3d%26size%3d0xFF%26blackwhite%3d%26cutout%3d%26archive%3d1%26name%3d%26groupid%3d84541%26pseudoid%3d%7b97A5F6C2-4649-470D-AB03-C3A606A84BCF%7d%26userid%3d%26id%3d%26a%3d%26xstx%3d0%26cbstore%3d0%26lightbox%3d%26resultview%3dsortbyRelevant%26gname%3d%26gtype%3d%26apalic%3d%26tbar%3d1%26pc%3d%26simid%3d%26cap%3d1%26customgeoip%3dID%26vd%3d0%26cid%3d%26saveQry%3d%26editorial%3d1%26t%3d0%26edoptin%3d
  7. Hi all, I'm returning to Stockimo after a break of a few months and seem to be stuck. I'm attempting to upload an image from my iPhone 4S library. The Stockimo app recognises the image, uploads it[?] and I'm presented with the caption and tag buttons. From that point on nothing, nada, zilch, bugger all. I can't add any text anywhere. I've reset the phone, logged in and out of Stockimo, waited for five minutes [just in case it's a background thing] but no joy. If I choose next, I get the warning that I haven't added a caption or any tags! Anyone else have the same experience of can suggest a solution please? Cheers Steve H
  8. When I started with Alamy I was new to stock photography and foolishly uploaded and added captions, locations, tags and other attributes in Manage Images for many of my images. Is there anyway to download a spreadsheet with all this information so I can more easily add them back to my images in Lightroom?
