  1. Hello Friends, I recently joined Alamy and I am wondering how this site works to sell the photos. I have posted about 170 pictures on this site. Over 100 have been optimized to goos discoverability and yet I do not see any views on my image manager. Is it too early to expect? I have been here only for 2 weeks. another question regarding QC. If I upload a batch for 30 pictures and if they find one bad picture they reject all which i feel is very odd and it is a waste of time to re upload them again. In that case will it make sense to upload pictures individually instead of a batch? thank you for your inputs, suggestions and advise.
  2. Hi everybody, I have got into stock photography about 8 months ago. I have joined Alamy and several other agencies since then. Even though I have made many sales on every single agency I have uploaded to, I still haven't made a single one on Allamy. I have only had 4 zooms in 8 months as well. I don't seem to understand what is the issue? Is it just really hard to sell on here or am I doing something wrong? Thanks to you all!!
  3. I am beginning to think about fine art prints of landscapes of my local area and selling in shops that may be interested. Can anyone suggest any good online services that offer runs of postcards for colour and B/W prints, and even business cards ? Thanks.
  4. Hi all, today i was considering we active forum contributors (regular plus some newbie) barely arrive at 500,000 pictures alltogether. What about the others? I mean, in your opinion how is Alamy going for the other 109 millions pictures of contributors never writing in forum threads? Are they just reading tricks and secrets of seniors and then use them for their own or may be they left pictures alone since years? Just wondering what you think. We often say we have to compete with 110 millions pictures then re-keyword and boring activities; are we sure this is the "right" number we have to compete with?
  5. Hello, I have a problem understanding the site, would need a little help. When I go to "My submissions" it says, that 3 images are on sale on poor discoverability, but when I go to "My Dashboard" it says that 3 images are not on sale and 0 on sale on poor discoverability. Is there something wrong on the site or am I doing something wrong? Regards, Brigita
  6. Hi all, with yesterday' PU sale i've come to the 4 sales in a row with the image being searched from other sources than Alamy. May be the customer did a Google search or may be he/she found my image link in a large image bank around the Net. The fact is : none of my images display on Zooms or Sales, therefore i can't really know which keywords generated the sale. So CTR is affected in a bad way, because i had sales from various topics but for these keywords associated to these searches my ranking remains the old one.
  7. Greetings forum This is my first post and also small question. I don't know what I m doing wrong but I haven't sold anything yet.I am very patient and I am contributor for almost two years at Alamy but still nothing happens.I have tagged all may pictures and having occasionally views but hardly any sale. Is this a bad luck or my portfolio really sucks?
  8. If anyone is interested, next March, (close to my 70th. birthday), a major retrospective exhibition of my work will open and be shown for three months at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth. It will feature my work from across six decades in addition to new work I am making now. I have had support in the form of a grant from the Arts Council of Wales to make the new work and commercial sponsorship from Silverprint.co.uk, (B&W materials) and from Jigsaw24.com, (a new iMac). I point all this out just to demonstrate that there is a great and lucrative photographic life apart from 'commercial' and stock photography. I have been working practically non-stop over recent months, reprinting older work for both the forthcoming exhibition and to fulfill orders for prints. Also busy making new work and this is also selling well, so it's not all about 'vintage' work, although at my age and long career a lot of it obviously is! Hopefully some will be enthused and maybe explore different avenues for their work. There's a lot of talent here so be encouraged. Obviously an open invite to all who might want to see the show and I will keypad informed.
  9. Hey, So I recently started selling my photographs on Alamy about a week or so ago. So far I have not sold anything. I was wondering if there are any tips or guidance that anyone could offer to help me out? I currently have 17 pictures for sale.
  10. Hello everyone, First of all I'd like to thank you for your attention, your patience and your comments about my doubts. I am a newbie here, created an account about more than 1 month ago and uploaded a lot of photos (over 600). QC it´s been very successful, most of the pictures have been fast accepted and ready to be sold BUT, at the moment, I have sold NOTHING. I mean, it is not like I am expecting to be rich, but something testimonial. Same portfolio works in other places about 20 dwls/month (I am newbie too), so I thought, Alamy would be more or less in the same line. I am also putting efforts on keywording, taking care of it, of course, but I do not know why my portfolio is not working. By the way, here it is: http://de.alamy.com/search/imageresults.aspx?pseudoid={97BE7DBE-DA15-4B73-BC7A-4B8569C16A25}&name=Lobro&st=11&mode=0&comp=1 I´d be veeeeery happy to hear from you guys, from your advices and experiences. Thanks in advance Lobro
  11. Hey everyone, I'm new to Alamy and have about 45 images available for sale as of today. I joined alamy about 4 weeks ago but have not had any zooms much less sales. Most of my photos are related to travel. I'm stuck in a rut and need some advice from the vets here at Alamy. Any advice on quality of photos, marketability, etc. are greatly appreciated. Stock photography by Kelley Stanley at Alamy Thanks! Kelley Stanley
  12. That's the 'Natural Environment Research Council' (UK). Just as a matter of interest, this could be a location to note down as a search for licensed images. They publish a monthly spreadsheet of their spending (listing on their website going back to April 2010). Unfortunately, the spreadsheets don't contain togs names, just details of amounts paid monthly to Alamy, so I guess it's down to a search of their Website or their publications. Just a quickie to start - from the Planet Earth Winter edition 2013 (link to pdf) The full archive listings for the planet Earth mag. (back to 2008) are here. 13. Lets say you have a set of images illustrating the process of making a cup of tea. How would / should you connect the images? Photoshop into one image, and upload that? Upload individually, but mark it as series in description, with the Alamy ref number of first image onto all the other images? Any other method? Simon
