I have contributed to Alamy almost 10 years now and have well over 15,000 images online. I average a minimum of several image license sales every week of the year. I have been shooting professionally for over 30 years, using digital capture and Adobe Photoshop for almost 15 years, and have never had a digital image rejected for quality reasons by any other stock agent, including Getty, except by Alamy. In recent months I have experienced what I perceive to be inconsistencies in the Quality Control measures. After going years without a QC Failure, I have had two batches of images fail in recent months. The images were captured with a Canon EOS 1DX and Leica M9-P. In both cases I made (from the original files that Failed QC) beautiful 16x20” prints and sent them in to Alamy for further consideration. In both cases Alamy QC said the images were not up to their standards. I completely disagreed with their assessment, but to no avail. I am seriously considering pulling my images from Alamy. The amount of time spent properly preparing & submitting images against the increasingly low fees is not providing a very good return on investment. I am wondering if anyone else is having similar, inconsistent, problems with the quality-control group? Mark Weidman _______________________________ H. Hi, I'm trying to upload images, but I cannot save images to their uncompressed state (above 17mb). I have JPEG files that are 6mb+ and when in Photoshop, they're about 45mb. But I cannot seem to save them as this uncompressed size? I have Adobe CS6 - I've seen posts about 'Save for Web' or 'legacy' but when I try this, the images only go upto 8MB. .tiff files are the correct size, but I can't upload them Please can I have some help, I'd love to upload images Cheers

I have image on Sthutterstock, Fotolia,Istock,Dreamstime,123Rf and Alamy. In all of them i have sells, but not in Alamy, why? What kinds of images could be sell on Alamy?

Good morning, dear forum members. Since my iPhone X supports RAW, I only use the Lightroom CC App to shoot and edit my pictures. The results after saving edited RAWS as JPEGs are incomparably better. 100% crop shows details I could never achieve by shooting JPEGs directly. Does anyone of you upload iPhone pictures to Alamy and if yes, is this a problem for QC? What drones are acceptable to upload still images to Alamy. I have looked at the Alamy info re drones but it is a long time out of date its basically saying DSLR or DJI inspire but things have changed a lot since the alamy info was posted. Is anyone getting images from the DJI Mavic Pro and/or mavic pro 2, or Mavic Zoom Drones accepted by Alamy. I don't need replies re the law or qualifications to do this, just drone camera quality. I have searched alamy forum but can't find anything within the last two years on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Paul

I created a high quality DNG panoramic images from about 7 vertical Raw full frame images on a D750 with a 50 mm lens. The process took about an hour to make the panoramic (and frustratingly slowed down my whole pc, including internet during the time) When I zoom into the panoramic, which was really good, the detail was exceptional. I then exported to a Jpeg at my usual 11 megapixels with "resize to fit" and "don't enlarge" checked. When I zoom into the Jpeg the quality is quite fuzzy at over 100%, nowhere near the sharpness of the DNG render. As I am new to making LR panoramics, can anyone advise how to get the best quality export from a DNG file, hopefuly keeping the same sharpness quality ? Thanks.

Just had my first QC failure since I don't know when. The offending image was taken with my new Panasonic GX80 micro 4/3 which was bought in an effort to save weight. Images from this camera have recently passed QC but this one being a landscape with the smaller than my usual aps-c sensor and with a base ISO of 200 rather than 100 may have caused the image to fall foul. Does anyone have QC experience with this camera, and any idea how long my sentence will be since I previously had a 3 star QC rating? Thanks Joe

I would value some input on the shooting format my fellow contributors use. I currently shoot everything in RAW format with almost all camera with little or no in camera processing etc. This means I must must edit every image before submission etc and this makes for a very laborious and time consuming process. I have very recently been looking at samples of a friends portfolio shot with a quality Lumix compact camera in JPEG format and his results are very impressive indeed even without much post shoot processing. This holds good even for images printed on large canvasses and on display in his home. I would love to hear some responses and comments on the merits and demerits of JPEG shooting for stock photography purposes. Any constructive criticism or advice will be gratefully received. Thanks
