  1. When I saw this, I couldn't help but ask the question - why do we worry? No doubt this image was uploaded through the "archive" route as part of a gigantic upload (just look at the total number of images for this contributor) but still, it is disheartening to see this kind of material slipping through. 2. Hi there folks, So I recently joined Alamy and was raring to get some photos up, I had looked through the guides and FAQ and was pretty sure my photos would be good enough to go up on the site. I made my first submission of my three best images and eagerly awaited an e-mail, none came. I seen on the site that QC were away on holidays so there might be a backlog, okay I said and waited. No email still so I signed into Alamy and discover my images were rejected but I got no email either way as I was supposed to which annoyed me. The first image failed as it was soft or lacking definition I am only an amateur so I don't really understand exactly what they mean and thought okay maybe try something better, anyway underneath it stated the camera was unsuitable and that's what grinds my gears, its a Olympus VG120 14 megapixels I done some research and with it having a 1/2.3'' sensor and being 14 megapixels I thought it was adequate. So i find myself asking what to do am I just wasting my time because my camera will never be ''good'' enough and therefore should close my account? Any opinions or help welcome, I don't mean it if my tone sounds off in this post I am just a little bit disheartened by it all was really getting a buzz because I honestly thought all was good and I bothered to do some research its just a bit overwhelming for an amateur with all the technicalities. I would add the image in question to my post only I don't know how. Thanks Larry
  3. I have contributed to Alamy almost 10 years now and have well over 15,000 images online. I average a minimum of several image license sales every week of the year. I have been shooting professionally for over 30 years, using digital capture and Adobe Photoshop for almost 15 years, and have never had a digital image rejected for quality reasons by any other stock agent, including Getty, except by Alamy. In recent months I have experienced what I perceive to be inconsistencies in the Quality Control measures. After going years without a QC Failure, I have had two batches of images fail in recent months. The images were captured with a Canon EOS 1DX and Leica M9-P. In both cases I made (from the original files that Failed QC) beautiful 16x20” prints and sent them in to Alamy for further consideration. In both cases Alamy QC said the images were not up to their standards. I completely disagreed with their assessment, but to no avail. I am seriously considering pulling my images from Alamy. The amount of time spent properly preparing & submitting images against the increasingly low fees is not providing a very good return on investment. I am wondering if anyone else is having similar, inconsistent, problems with the quality-control group? Mark Weidman _______________________________ H. 4. Hi Guys, I love this forum and Your professionalism so I'd like to ask You about converting Raw files in Raw File Converter by SILKYPIX because I'd just swaped my C50d and 50-200+Sigma 18-35 lenses to brand new Fuji x100T and be grateful to help me to convert Raw files properly and pass QC. You wonder why and what was the reason I did it..so..beacause of mirrorless body/small dimensions and art films filters. Maybe it was a bad decision but my intuition tell me..You know;-) Any tutorial welcome.. cheers, Artur
