  1. Since 1 week i'm having 0 for sales, zooms ...no views at all! I'm a bit worried... am i banned or did something wrong my ranking decreased a lot? Anyone having the same behaviour? It's the first time in about 3 yrs on Alamy something like that is happening. CTR is a bit above average
  2. Hello Friends, I recently joined Alamy and I am wondering how this site works to sell the photos. I have posted about 170 pictures on this site. Over 100 have been optimized to goos discoverability and yet I do not see any views on my image manager. Is it too early to expect? I have been here only for 2 weeks. another question regarding QC. If I upload a batch for 30 pictures and if they find one bad picture they reject all which i feel is very odd and it is a waste of time to re upload them again. In that case will it make sense to upload pictures individually instead of a batch? thank you for your inputs, suggestions and advise.
  3. Can't find how to delete post - any help? I've noticed that Alamy measures shows total views for me as 423, but when I click to my(Your) images it only shows 223. I left it a couple of days to see if it would update, but no change (except total views increased by one). Is this normal? I had thought this could be down to a photographer with same name, but seems unlikely after a search. Not a big concern, just wondering.
  4. Hi, can someone please tell me how it is possible for my total zoom count to be less today (1 August 2018) than it has been for the last 2 weeks. I understand that a payment can be refunded to a buyer and then reclaimed from me but i cannot for the life of me understand how a ZOOMED image can by UNZOOMED. What am I missing.
  5. I'm so excited – I just got my seventh view! Okay, okay. All you grizzled and gnarly old togs out there are variously snorting, laughing, yawning, examining your nails, rolling eyes, expressing utter disdain, feigning utter disdain, and throwing rotten veg in this direction. But it's ground breaking stuff for me - seven views! You wait until I get an actual zoom. (Sales, we won't mention) If any other noobs want to pitch in, feel free (first view/sale/zoom/CTR/massive sale/OBE/etc) – oh, and you big guns can as well, but it better be good – Leonardo da Vinci good.
  6. Hi! When looking at view grid of my images I have noticed twice lately that an image of mine would get a view for a search term that I cannot recognize, meaning that the image does not have that as a keyword. The latest offender is the word "backpulver". I have never used that keyword, yet I have an image collecting a view for it. Moreover, when I go check out the entire Alamy and punch in "backpulver", none of my images show up. The other occurrence was my images getting a view for a non-English search term. Needless to say, all of my keywords are in English. Has anyone else seen this? It appears the "ghost" views are accounted for when CTR is calculated. Thanks guys!
  7. Since i started uploading to Alamy (1 year yesterday) i was wondering why a buyer should zoom an image. These are some of my conclusions: a) to expand a tiny thumbnail which is poorly visible b to check the final price (useful for RM) c) to buy the image d) to verify which other similar pics a contributor has e) to double check an image before buying it Which other reasons come in mind to you guys? 1 year, i have 2 sales out of 47 zooms so it seems case c) is just 4% of the total reasons
  8. Hi all, i'm a newbie in Alamy but have some skills about the concept of CTR. We all know it's basically a "# of Zooms / # of Views" kind of thing, right? Higher CTRs mean usually more Sales (not a math relationship btw). As all math ratios, the more Views we have the worst CTR we're gonna expect from our pictures. Views are the result of a combination of multiple Keywords and math says the more Keywords the more combinations, so # of Views. for i.e. i had Views for the search term "Miami" alone of pictures i did of a Miami beach gay party which is NOT what i wanted since "Miami" keyword alone DOES NOT full describe my picture, therefore i wrongly addressed a potential buyer to my party image. Someone who looked for "Miami" probably wanted some downtown Miami images or may be Miami skylines, not a private swimming pool party which could have been photographed everywhere. Then looking at this great tool which is "Your Images" or AoA i could easily come to the conclusion i should MINIMIZE the # of Views to increase the CTR and hopefully MAXIMIZE the # of Sales. So, am i right if i say it's better to use a minimal set of keywords to keep low the # of proper combinations? That should reduce consistently our # of Views preventing buyers from the bad thing also known as keyword spamming. What do you think and how do you keyword this way? Thx in advance I'm sorry English is not my mother language...
  9. We all obsess about our AlamyRank and how many views/zooms we get (some of us like myself check daily). Looking back through my licensed image history, it appears that the majority of the images I've licensed that were used in newspapers (or where the sales revenue amount is indicative of the newspaper scheme prices) were not recorded as a zoom. We know that not all of Alamy's customers have accounts that register as a zoom. We also know that sales improve rank greater than zooms.....but initially, do those who supply "creative images" (images created with a slant toward the commercial market - I am not referencing the "creative" Alamy category) over "editorial newsworthy" images (images more indicative of being used by a news outlet) at an AlamyRank disadvantage? ***note that Alamy Live News is not included in the newspaper scheme Thoughts?
  10. Has there been a re-rank recently, or is it, that I am having a bad month? The number of views on my images is about normal, but the number of zooms has been almost zero this month, consequently my CRT is way down on the Alamy average! A bad month, a re-rank, or both?
  11. Hi everybody, Has it happen to you already to sell pictures that were never previously zoomed by clients ? It happened to me and I find it strange, I wouldn't buy a picture without looking carefull at it before. Thank your for your insight
