Some good news for those of us who shoot travel photography. Personally, I've seen my book photo sales continue to grow: DK Publishing, Moon, Frommer's, Fodor's, Workman Press all come to mind off the top of my head. Print is not dead! 😎Long live print! https://www.forbes.com/sites/garystoller/2018/02/20/so-you-thought-travel-guidebooks-were-dead-guess-again/#b461a9658107 So, go out this weekend and shoot! P.S. I know the story is from last year, but it has a lot of valuable information and also it's a nice positive topic to start the weekend,

I shoot mostly for stock with a Nikon. I bought a Lumix DMC-ZS60 (18 mps with Leica zoom) 'travel camera' to use when I am on vacation and also for casual use as I run errands about town when I don't want to lug the Nikon. I uploaded a few photos from a recent foreign vacation and had few or no issues with Alamy. I recently uploaded a batch of nine local shots (eight shot with the Nikon and one with the Lumix) and the entire lot was rejected due to the the quality of one shot from the Lumix. I am aware of Alamy's policy of rejecting one/rejecting all (which seems unfair). The Lumix is said to

Hi I am new to the forum and this is my very first post just to introduce myself. I started with photography since 2008 when I got my first digital camera but first uploaded on stock around mid 2012. Like many photographers I shoot almost anything but my interest lies in travel, destination and landscape photography. Initially Alamy sales were far and few but now I have started getting fmore requent sales, almost 1-3 sales every month. I am hoping for many more sales as my portfolio grows. Wish a best of luck and many more sales to all the contributors .

I use multipe sources - (paper) maps as an overview to get a feeling for distances and areas worth to visit - web research for hiking trips / blogs on regions - paper travel guide - look up pictures in tour books to get an idea of an area I'm looking for an easy way to collect this information, my favorite would be - an electronic map where I could add points of interests/link related web pages/hiking info. - usable by P

Hi there, I joined Alamy over a year ago and uploaded about 10 images but never got more involved than that until today :-) Any advice to someone starting out with online stock photos would be much appreciated...my only aim is for non friend's and family to see my photos and maybe make a buck or two down the line. Thanks to all those who contributed their images for the September 2016 Challenge. All submissions were superb works, making my choice of the finalists just that much more difficult. Here is the poll-page anyways. Voting closes October 5 midnight, the winner picks the next topic. Good luck & best wishes to all here. The finalists : 1. DickJ : B4EF5B : Desert View. Grand Canyon, AZ 2. vpics : EA9X44 : The former Berlin Wall with a mural of Honecker and Breshnev kissing. 3. Olivier Parent : E9NKK8 : Paris - La Seine river and the Eiffel tower seen from Alexandre III bridge
