I tried to connect via FTP using Filezilla, which I've done weekly for about 3 years. This morning, it's not working - nothing's changed on my end. The error showing is: Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing I tried to connect to another stock site and had no problems. Anyone else having this problem? Thank you!

My default upload route is via the browser but since updating my Mac, I can once again do so via FTP which used to be a helluva lot faster. QC for reportage was instaneous - but the batch I've just FTPd hasn't appeared after half an hour. Is FTP no longer the fast track of old??

Hi everyone, Alamy newbie here; something to do whilst locked down during the virus crisis! I just uploaded 2,500 images by FTP transfer, they were all titled and captioned in Lightroom before doing so but as I look at them in my Alamy Image Manager, waiting in Quality Control they are all showing file names instead of titles! Will the titles be in place once the images have passed quality control or delete everything now, find out what went wrong and start again?

Has anyone had success using the Transfer and Tagging App for Imaging Edge on an android phone for live news (or stock)? Is there a way to test the metadata transfer and FTP functions of this app on a windows 10 local machine?

I've a horrible feeling that I know the answer to this problem - the transmission cables under the oceans from eight time-zones away cause delays. Here goes. When I FTP 20 files to Alamy, about nine of them fail to upload. There is a red text message saying that it timed out. I wouldn't mind so much if there was some way to know which files had failed, because I could just resend them. Yesterday, I tried watching the green progress bar, noting the name which was nearest to 100%. Immediately the file reached 100% I checked if it had failed or succeeded, and wrote down the ones that failed. Then I re-sent the failed ones. The method works, but I have to keep alert, because my mind wanders when what I am watching is as exciting as watching the grass grow. Is there some way to get a list of files that timed out. Perhaps there is some way to set up Filezilla to allow more time before timing out? Ian

I'm a new user of ftp, and have been using filezilla for a few weeks. But in the past week, it seems to upload all my files, though (1) some of the files will remain in the server window on the right after filezilla reports successful transfer of all files, and (2) most or all of those files still showing in the server window do not show up on the alamy (or other agency) site. This is happening both for uploads to Alamy and to another site, so I don't THINK it's an alamy problem. To solve it, I'm having to delete those files still showing on the server side, re-select, and do a second upload. Sometimes it has taken more than one "re-do" to get them all to show on the agency website. Are others experiencing this? Am I doing something wrong? Would appreciate feedback.
