  1. Just trying to get back in the Alamy game with my new found passion for lakes and wondering whether Instagram hashtag generators might be useful for Alamy? Sites like metatags where you type in a word or a picture and it gives you all the associated hashtags in order of popularity? There’s a few of them, and they are useful for Instagram but would they translate to Alamy? Is there a better site for choosing Alamy keywords? TIA!
  2. Hello there ... I am new for Alamy ... :) I upload set of images to alamy , but all show as " Poor discoverabilty " anyone know how to change it in to optimized discoverability ??? Please help me ... I have No idea ... Thank you
  3. Under "Discoverability" in image manager, I just noticed this--what does "optimized" refer to?
  4. Can anybody advise me whether, or not, the 'Discoverability' bars actually move at all? I haven't got many images up yet, but the ones I have are fully key worded to the extent that I can't add any more. The "Discoverability' bar is still stick in the orange sector (poor discoverability) and I don't really know what I can do to get it to budge. Is this a Beta feature? Thanks, Barry

    Discoverability

I've submitted a few photos now but, try as I might, have not been able to raise the status of my submissions beyond "Poor discoverability". I have read all the information I can find about how to improve "Discoverability" (and applied the advice to the best of my ability) but just can't get that orange bar to turn green. Can Alamy provide more precise information on how to achieve this?
  6. I have a strange problem when using Jim Keir's Alamy Lightroom bridge. I spend quite a lot of effort trying to get my metadata fully optimised (10 supertags/50 tags, and ensuring everything is filled in). The bars on each image shows full green. Not a problem. However, when I use the plugin to do a "Set Alamy Data" the discoverability bar on the left side image grid shows orange, but the discoverability bar on the right side image summary shows full green. It's only when I change the Primary or Secondary Category does it pop back to full green indicating it's optimised. Has anyone else seen this issue, and do you know of a simple solution, rather than having to reset the category on every affected image? https://www.dropbox.com/s/ootwbe8rsltyr62/Screenshot 2018-03-28 20.31.09.png?dl=0 Stephen.
  7. Dear all, since I started Alamy just recently I run into some trouble. Most could be answered in the forums but not this one: I uploaded some Meadia and it went through the Quality Check well. Now I moved on and put one picture on sale. Put in all info required and released it saying "on sale". Now I wanted to check for the media on the webpage but can´t find it. I used name, code and photographer but no result. What did I do wrong? Thanks James
  8. I know it's been done to death on the forums but I am amazed this feature hasn't been tweaked just a little. Now I have my act together properly it's nice that a whole batch, once it is QCed, goes on sale straight away using the keywords in the EXIF So when I get round to tweaking by marking supertags and adding locations - and crucially flagging those pictures with people / property would it be so hard to have a traffic light colour scheme to guide? Eg enough tags so on sale: Orange (as at present) Supertags: Yellow? People and Property Qs answered: Turqoise The magic numbers of tags I never achieve: Green as at present (so I am told) I have to admit recently I've just been answering the people / property questions where the answer is yes - leaving the rest as undecided as I can't see any gain from the extra effort for the "no" answers. 9. I am trying to annotate and tag my first images on Alamy. I am new to this particular process so I have created a couple of screen shots to help explain my question. 1 - First is a picture of Olmsted Point, Yosemite NP 2 - Second are the Mandatory fields completed 3 - Lastly are the optional fields completed Here is the web link to a temporary page on my website: http://jbrish.com/temp-3/ My discoverability is stil in the orange and not optimal (as far as I can tell) yet I don't really understand what more I could add to improve the listing. What would you suggest should be added? Thank you for your time and consideration. I am still learning the system and appreciate all help.
  10. What are super key words ?and what is the best way to increase discoverability of your images
  11. Hello, newbie here and I seem to have a problem with discoverability. All my photos are titled, tagged and up for sale but they are appearing poor discoverability. On search I can only find another photographer with the same name. Help anybody and thanks.
  12. From your experience, how many pages do you think buyers flip through before they buy an image? Do they ever go past the first 2 or 3 pages for topics that have a few thousand images? In other words, how do I bring my images from, say, page 12 to the first few pages? I'm guessing there is no simple answer and maybe some might not want to give their 'secrets' away? Any help is much appreciated, I'm yet to make any sales here (I realise I only have a small number of images at the moment which probably doesn't help.) Thanks
  13. Hi having passed the first hurdle of getting images passed QC now seem to be falling fowl of discoverability! I have followed rules and added all relevant tags description location etc but still none of my images have moved from undiscoverable!!! Is this something I need to worry about! Zero sales so far!!! :-(
