  1. At last! Its been a long while coming but finally we can import images directly from a camera/card into Lightroom Mobile on an iPad! I'm often asked about iPad Workflows. This is my first post on the latest Lightroom Mobile updates which have made a huge difference to the workflow. More next week... https://julieedwards-x.blog/2020/01/04/direct-import-from-cards-in-lightroom-mobile/ NOW A 3 POST SERIES!
  2. I have been trying to decide whether to use the Adobe Portfolio that comes with the Photography subscription. I know it never hurts to have your images out there on as many platforms as possible, but wonder if it is worth the time an effort. I have a website at the moment (I use Piwigo) but am always considering upgrading to something like Zenfolio, etc. Anyone using the Adobe Portfolio, and if so, what do you think of it? Jill
  3. Last month’s billing, who knows maybe before, I was charged for Adobe CC every 2 weeks. Again on this billing. The odd thing is that on my credit card bill, both charges have the identical plan number. I just contacted Adobe customer support and became involved in a chat. BTW, if you are looking for an arrow or “send” button to send your part of the conversation, you won’t find it. Anyway, I didn’t. I fumbled around forever then hit “return” and it went. Ok, back to the subject. Turns out I was being charged, #1 for the CC plan, #2 for 20 Gb of storage!! That I never knowingly
  4. I often go back and reprocess old images or even more recent ones that I think I can improve or make a different version of for Alamy. After watching this video I learned that there is another reason to turn your attention to older photos. I like to think my processing skills have improved and I know the software has gotten better. He talks about color rendering and demosaicing have improved for older cameras, He states towards the end of the video that Capture One and Lightroom have evolved over the years to give better results making it worthwhile to revisit those older images.

  11. A lot of people have shown interest for the new tools in LR Classic: the luminosity and color masks. Here is an in-depth review of the tools:
  12. I have been working with the new version of Lightroom (the Classic CC) for over a week now. Here are my first impressions. I would like to hear other users comments:
  13. A Lightroom CC / Camera raw update is available details here: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/12/lightroom-cc-2015-8-now-available.html
  14. Can anyone think of a reason why Adobe ACR (latest cc version) is only correcting for chromatic aberration when opening RAF (RAW) files from Fuji X-T1 with 35mm f/1.4 lens and not applying a correction for distortion or vignetting? There is no separate lens profile available as I understand it, Adobe simply apply what Fuji supply in the RAF file. An information box bottom right corner in ACR confirms it "The RAW file contains a built-in lens profile for correcting chromatic aberration. The profile has already been applied automatically to this image." I have seen other people comment
  15. I was advised yesterday to uninstall Flash until there is a fix for a security vulnerability which was confirmed by Adobe and PCWorld: http://blogs.adobe.com/psirt/ http://www.pcworld.com/article/2878792/flash-player-plagued-by-third-zeroday-flaw-in-a-month-updates-coming.html So now it's impossible to manage my images on Alamy. Presumably it'll be fixed soon, but an alternative to Flash would be nice.
  16. Hello everyone, i'm newcomer in here. my question is what Alamy allow the use of a plug-in for Adobe for image processing ?,for example the use NIK software as a plug-in in Adobe, because I like the features in it. and for some sites they allow the use of plug in. and whether the use of plug-in can cause a photo be altered ?.

    Adobe Flash

Given the huge progress with Web technologies in the last couple of years, specifically HTML5 and CSS3, and given the device/vendor-specific problems with Adobe Flash (think Apple/Adobe clash; MS Silverlight; among other issues) and the fact that this technology seems to be on its last legs, is it not time for Alamy to ditch Flash once and for all? We have all had problems with Manage Images v2.4 from time to time, but these don't seem to be going away. In the long-term, relying on a vendor-specific solution seems to be asking for trouble in this rapidly changing field. EDIT: Of cours
  18. Hi all, Not sure if anyone else, has got a letter from adobe today? Well just got a letter from adobe (third or fourth time now) this one is just informing me. All my card details, the payment method used, my name and anything else related to my order (account number, security number, sorting code, etc) they are implying it's been decrypted! Not a happy, customer.
  19. See here. It's also available to download on trial. I took the plunge today and upgraded (well TBH, on trial until I'm happy) Well I guess I am happy, a few hiccups taking my catalog across: 1. Color label sets not transferring, Need to copy/paste from old catalog. 2. Settings. Again, need to copy the folders if you have your settings stored with the catalog, not general. In use: 1. Defiantly more responsive. I took the opportunity to kill my old previews file so it rebuilds and the system is defiantly a lot faster now. Dual screens are now usable again on my old MBP (grid on secondary sc
  20. Are Adobe killing the goose that lays the golden eggs? The latest news on the street is that Adobe is discontinuing its Creative Suite of standalone products and making them available via subscription only. This means that you will no longer be able to purchase the latest version of Photoshop and use it for years to come. Instead, you're going to have to pay $49.99 a month for the privilege. And if you stop paying you won't be able to use Photoshop any more. http://www.iclarified.com/29809/adobe-discontinues-standalone-applications-moves-to-subscription-only-model Well ... thanks
  21. Hi All Am I right in assuming that only adobe flash player version 10 will allow me upload images to Alamy, I am using version 11 and getting nowhere Cheers SimonLJ
