  1. Hello all, I was trying to upload pics to aterras "favorite pictures that you have uploaded may 2016" but can't figure out how to do it. I tried bringing up my media and it said to pick which category to share but none came up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jacob Y.
  2. I occasionally upload a news image taken on my iPhone via Stockimo. Last week, for the first time ever, I uploaded a couple of 'UK Weather' related images taken on my DSLR. It took me a few attempts to get the IPTC fields right and I had to email the Alamy News team on a couple of occasions to get them to fix images on the Live News Feed where I had got the captions wrong (missing). This was mainly down to the fact that I struggled a bit to firstly find the right fields in Lightroom and then having added and IPTC caption and headline, I missed the fact that you actually had to to choose
  3. Hello, Yesterday I key worded 5 image so that they would be on the site today. But when i went to look for them in "manage my images" it said no images ready. But there were 5 image left in the "ready" section and none on alamy. Is this just slow site upload? or is it a glitch? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Jacob Y.
  4. I was wondering if photos taken on an IPhone should be exclusively uploaded via stockimo app, or can you also upload them via alamy on the computer ?
  5. Hi everyone, Ive had an odd problem uploading to Stockimo on and off over the last year. Sometimes if I edit a picture using standard Apple iOS software (open from pictures and hit edit) Stockimo can no longer see the modified image. My workaround has been to open in photoshop or snapseed to resave but sometimes it decides these are the ones it dosent like today, an today is one of those days! Anyone else had this? Im on an iPhone 6 Thanks Matt
  6. For a few days the "Manage" and "Upload" images options are not working anymore on my computer. I'm getting this error message: "Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash". Installed the newest flash player twice already. Still not working. Mac OS X 10.10.5 with Safari Any advice?
  7. Hi, I new here. I have uploaded a batch of images, keyworded them all. Now only 22 images updated. 12 images got stuck and displaying a message that says "Images not on sale please keyword". images management page shows them as ready and waiting for search engine update. I am confused. is everything fine or something wrong on my side? Thanking you, SUMAN AC
  8. Quick question, I'm working on my first upload after the initial approval stage. I uploaded ten photos "assets" After the upload they seem to disappear. I'm not sure whether I should be able to work on them right away, or that I can't see them until they are approved? I can't see the uploads in any que or any specific location...For lack of a better word they seem to disappear after uploading...Sorry for the "dumb" question. But I'm having a hard time understanding the workflow.
  9. I've started one of my big single uploads of the year and six months or so ago, I started doing so using ftp (via the Transmit app) rather than the Alamy web page whose Flash I found unpredictable. So as I watch the progress of each file make its way left to right I wonder if this really sends the file faster than previously? Has anyone with a stop watch tested both methods and can reach a definitive conclusion? Rgds, Richard. *67 gone, hundreds to go*
  10. Hi all.. I just joined but can't seem to get past the upload page. I tried to upload the latest flash player but keep getting the "upload flash to the latest version" button every time I go to that page. I have an iMac, 16 GB ram, system Yosemite 10.10.4 and Safari 8.0.7. Cheers and thanks for any help!
  11. I've long heard about FTP upload, but does anyone have any preferences with regards what client is best? Does it depend on where you are in the world? Are there any drawbacks or things to watch out for? Etc Etc? Thanks Chris
  12. I wanna upload my illustraions. Can I upload illustration file ( EPS, AI, etc ) ? Thnx
  13. My question is should I be comfortable now that 9 images have passed QC or should I still be on guard? Hello, I am new and had read the Alamy forum prior to joining and I must say I was slightly frightened by the QC in Alamy and there was also some talk of how long it was taking to get through QC. I have so far experienced none of those problems. My first 4 images went though in 24 hours and passed, my second 5 images went though in about 40 hours and passed.
  14. I know others have reported the problem of their uploads not showing for a while. Like an hour or two? How about 9-10 hours? That's how long it's been. The upload hung up on the 2nd image. I hit pause then resumed again and it went fine for awhile then tried repeatedly on one other image before finally managing it, the rest of them zipped on through. I've never had that much trouble with an upload. I forgot to look for FTP availability. Darn. Betty
  15. Hi All ... I am new here ... And uploaded a photo at first ... then uploaded more 4 at once ... after some days ... alamy QC failed ... This is the email alamy sent : We sent this automatically so there's no one here to reply. Hello Motasem Unfortunately, your test submission (Media Reference OL3177735, OL3177497) has failed. We found the following errors: Filename Rejection reason gaza-fisher-man-...oat-IMG_ 3849.JPG Number of images We need 4 images to pass our initial quality check before you can submit more. All images must meet our guideli
  16. When are you finally going to create a way to upload and submit images and video over the web? I feel like Alamy has been left behind in the stone ages. Until this is created it is not worth my time to create a spreadsheet with all the metadata and mail a hard drive. It needs to be an easy submission process like Pond 5. Their system reads all the metadata that has already been embedded in the file so that when it is uploaded I simply have to attach the necessary releases and click submit. (reading iptc metadata is a must for the upload process). Are you working on this yet? If so, what
  17. My latest batch (the first since April) has come through with the Date taken fields filled in with the upload date. I've checked the files I sent and they are all date-stamped as normal. Other data has come through as normal. Tedious as at the very least I have to reduce them all to "Year only" or fill in correct date. I certainly don't want them posted with an incorrect date even it is of little relevance to purchasers. Has anyone else noticed this ?
  18. I started an upload this evening and then went out for an hour or two. I came back and the process seemed to be stuck on the 10th photo of 75. I tried pausing and restarting the process, but the "thermometer" goes up to 4% or 5% on a smaller file and then hangs. Anyone else having a problem uploading tonight? Should I just try again tomorrow?
  19. After uploading my first ever batch of images I tried tracking my submissions and found the submission history to be empty. So I uploaded the same images once more and after clicking around a bit the images showed up in the tracking info but with double as much images as I had planed. I came to the forum to search for a thread to see if it's possible to delete duplicate uploads but couldn't find any. The only relevant thread I found was talking about submissions not showing up directly after uploading images. Had I read that thread earlier I wouldn't have made that mistake but it's too lat
  20. We're starting to work on something we've wanted to do for a while now: improving the upload and keywording process. Although our turnaround times for image processing are one of the quickest in the business, it's clear that our upload tool and keyword management areas of the site could be far more user friendly. We're looking at vastly streamlining the whole process to make keywording and uploading more elegant and efficient which should make submitting images to us a far more enjoyable experience. So what would you want to see changed / bought in? We're already sold on the idea o
  21. I am sure I am being thick, also that this must have been covered many times before, but can somebody please tell me how I upload an image to this forum, so that others can comment on it? Many thanks
  22. After trying really hard to review my images before uploading, I rushed a batch and as soon as I had hit the key I knew they would fail. Couldn't there be a way of accessing the batches to delete them before they get near QC? I'm now back in the sin bin again. Aaaaaargggghh!
  23. I am having trouble uploading as my anti-virus (Panda 2014) is reporting Alamy's online upload GetMediaRef.aspx is infected with BAT/Downloader.xnf virus. As a result I get Warning Panda 2014 where the media reference should be and although the files upload they do not complete (no media ref presumably) with message "unable to connect to Alamy" It seems it also found same problem yesterday afternoon but the upload completed OK (I did not notice any problem) - shortly after it had updated threat signature file. Anybody else have a problem or getting virus reports from their av software
  24. I'm new to Alamy and this is my first time posting on the forums hoping I can get some help with an issue I can't seem to resolve. Please forgive me if I missed any posts relating to this issue. I tried looking up some answers on google, the alamy site, and the forums here and can't seem to find a means of resolving it. I joined Almay shortly before the new dashboard came out, and I had uploaded my 4 test images and unfortunately failed the QC because I miss understood the sizing requirements (I saw the post mentioning confusion with the 24mb Tiffs so I'm glad to see I'm not the only customer
