I just had a great idea on how to easily make millions at this business, and thought I'd mess with vector illustration a bit. So I had a few fundamental technical questions for anyone who would be kind of enough to answer. I do understand the basic concept of how vector files work as opposed to raster files. And I've gone thru a few informative, online tutorials. But I'd still like to know if "vector files" created in Photoshop CC using "paths" to design shapes can be saved as EPS files that are perfectly compatible with Alamy standards. (assuming all the technicals are perfec

Hello guys, im a new contributor on Alamy. Hope sales have been good for you all. As a illustrator that works with vector mostly i was quite surprised to see that they sell all vectors for 9.99 as opposed to photos/illustrations where there are alot of pricing options. So my question is - for a contributor, whats the advantage of uploading the vector file instead of only the jpeg? It seems like uploading the vector file will limit the amount of money he can make with the sales. Would love to read your opinions on this before uploading my work.

Newbie here! I'm wondering how other abstract artists and illustrators are doing with sales. I'd also love to know your thoughts on keywording.... do you get all 50 in? Are you using non-color color-names like peach? Is still life one keyword or two? I'd welcome advice on keywords. I use Photoshop the most (for repeating patterns as well as abstract compositions), but am starting to think of putting my repeating vectors online too. Is Alamy the right place for this? Is vector illustration selling better than raster? This is the first time I've licensed,

In the case of complex vector images is it OK to upload a separate Jpeg version? (assuming that potential illustration buyers do not search the vector category only for simple designs.)

Hi there I was wondering if there are vector and illustration-graphics allowed to be submitted for the live news?! I've made a testupload with an illustration about the terrorism attack in paris one day ago - uploaded today and received after some minutes an email which says: "illustration = stock"?! Does anyone have other experiences on this? Is it generally NOT allowed to submit live-graphics/-illustrations to alamy's live news? Thanks and regards imd

Greetings from another 'newbie' - although I'm now not sure I'm in the right 'forum area', as I am primarily an illustrator / artist... with photography as a 'side' thingy...

Did I missed the information that the price for vector images has been decreased from 49.99 to 9.99? Lowering the price by 80% would be nice to know.

Hello, I created some logos (from different movies) and I d like to know if its better to sell them as illustrations (JPEG) or as vectors (EPS) ? I am hesitating because I know that illustrations can be sold at a higher price than vectors. But maybe there are more buyers for vectors?? What do you think?

As an experiment, I uploaded and had accepted four images of politicians which with isolation, simplification and several filters and tweaks are now cartoons. As I was 'managing' them, I wasn't sure whether to classify them as 'illustrations' or photographs (digitally altered). I have them currently as 'illustrations', on the spurious grounds that I have photographs (digitally altered) that maybe have a bit of litter or pavement chewing gum digitally removed but are essentially 'as was'. Certainly, these are manipulated photos. Equally certainly, someone with more artistic ability than I co
