  1. I've left a couple of dozen old video clips "over there" (wish I could put them here instead). I used to get an OK amount when one of them licensed. However, since the recent changes, I'm getting a pittance. After a couple of video sales, I'd usually have enough in the kitty for a payout. Now it could literally take a couple of years to reach the minimum threshold of $35.
  2. Upday has been mentioned a few times recently, Sally. Quite a few sales going round this month, it appears. A search will reveal all... 🙂
  3. Just three sales so far as we get towards the end of the month but this one went for $$$.
  4. https://www.alamy.com/image-details-popup.asp?Imageid=9C3ED2D7-8337-49A3-861C-019124940473 Well finally paddled into 2021 sales with this opener 😀 A P.U. Sale for $19.99 happy that i got the full price on the image for a change.
  5. This saga continues to run. The repair man carried out tests on my existing hard drive and could find no fault, but, when he tried to clone some of the contents into the new SSD it refused to cooperate. It appears to have died and, although I have backed up my data, the applications were all lost. So I now have a new HD and a new SSD. I am currently copying data onto the new HD, and it is taking a long time, maybe 13 hours, but, hopefully it will get there. Regarding PS and LR, progress has been better than I expected. Once I was able to penetrate the wall of online sales for prod
  6. I am not stressing about sales, but they are nice when they come, and the money can be used for more photography-related costs. 😃
  7. I'm doing really well. Three sales and ten zooms since January 1st. They have almost all been from 1) Mexico City tourist sites 2) Black Lives Matter murals 3) protests, including the Indigenous Women protesters photo that has sold three times. So these are the topics that clearly sell over other kinds of shots, of which I have plenty. This George Floyd mural has been zoomed at least five or six times, under many different search terms and I think it's partly responsible for my high placement on Alamy search results overall. This then leads to other sales and zooms. So
  8. You did good, I did OK - 6 for me, could do better. I wonder if it'll change now Con has retired... I'm doing very well on here this month, 9 sales for $550 gross, $225 net so far and there's still the end of month surge to come. Lovely!
  9. Kos, I have almost 9,000 images on Alamy and there is not one that I have either a model release or property release for. I just shoot common access editorial subjects. And, yes, I do make regular sales. Paris awaits!!!
  10. Jose, these sorts of photos are a sort of Alamy specialty. They are here because Alamy was the first stock photo agency to accept them in large numbers. Should you be shooting them in Brazil? Yes! They form a bit of historical record of who you are and where you come from. And they could make some sales too. (although they rarely do for me) This brings up a second point; you need to be shooting much more than this to be successful! Keep shooting new subjects and keep looking at what gets published.
  11. I'm a little while at Alam and I see looking at other microstocks what caught my attention in the photos of Alamy are the photos of city streets, places like stores, supermarkets, I found it very interesting, but from the point of view of sales, for those who can sell these types of photos? Books? Advertising in any way? I found it interesting .. if anyone can write about it, because here in Brazil there are many interesting places excluding Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Thanks

  13. Hello! How are you doing with your 360 ° Images sales? Is it worth spending time creating panoramas?
  14. Novel Use has actually been around for many years. I opted out a long time ago. I believe that some people have reported some decent NU sales. However, most of mine were around $1.00 or less.
  15. That is shocking, as is you can only opt out in April, I've just noticed I am "in", which I don't remember clicking, but it was a long time ago, but it does say 70% of us are in! For me there should be a minion sale of $9.99 or £10 would be better and if anyone wants less they can opt in to such schemes, or just go down the Microstock route! So out of interest though, has anyone had any big sales from this new marketing procedure? Our sales teams are always looking for new and innovative ways to evolve our business, whether that’s with the next big idea or a tailored so
  16. my sales for said website have not been reported as Novel use, so these may be regular price now. Has anyone opted out of N.U. seen any sales for said travel website?
  17. Normally, I don't quarrel with Alamy about their pricing. Novel Use is the exception to that. I opted out of it long ago. PU sales I like. In the two months I spent in Puerto Vallarta, every thing I saw was worth a lot more than a dime.
  18. 17 sales of Puerto Vallarta yesterday showing on all of alamy
  19. Hi Kostiantyn, Welcome! You have some very nice pictures, bright and colourful, simple themes. 1. Captions are searchable on Alamy and if you hover over a photo, you can see the caption without actually zooming the photo. I'm sure clients do this, so if you have short or incorrect captions on a photo, they will move swiftly on after hovering over the photo. https://www.alamy.com/contributor/how-to-sell-images/captions-and-keywords-for-images/?section=8" "Before you start, think about the potential use of the image and what it’s likely to be sold for, the more accurat
  20. Hi All This is a license via our novel use scheme, an optional scheme which falls outside of our normal licensing. The images in the novel use pool give our sales team the freedom to explore different schemes and trials, with a variety of price points and licenses. These include, but are not limited to trials with new customers, prototypes/proof of concept, and high volume low unit price licences. If you decide you don’t want to be part of the Novel Use Scheme anymore you can opt out every April by following the ‘Novel use’ link under Additional Revenue Opti
  21. If you're talking about holidays such as Christmas, etc, which is what I thought initially until I saw the answers here, my early portfolio did well with images from Mardi Gras. Pi Day was also a decent seller. And Fourth of July. Not so much Christmas and Easter, a trickle of sales, though I have a lot more images shot for those holidays. In recent years, Fourth of July did best, but travel far and away is my best seller here. I uploaded about 30 Christmas illustrations last year and a lot of Easter illustrations the year before. Also New Years. None of them sold, nor were any of
  22. It happened. I've had low sales but this is a record. It's even RM. Hopefully not a sign of things to come. I've got enough of these at that other place: Country: Worldwide ; Usage: Editorial ; Media: Editorial website ; Start: 17-February-2021 ; End: 17-November-2021 ; Additional Details: Single use across website and/or digital publication such as E-book or PDF, any size, any placement, in perpetuity. How much you ask? $0.25 and $0.10 to me.
  23. Hello! I've only been working for Alamy for a month. Didn't expect quick sales. But I would like to know how successful my portfolio can be. Any advice thank you.
  24. A couple this morning in the sales basket for this month $$ and $. Alan
  25. 1353 views today resulted in 20 zooms - a vast improvement on recent zoom figures. Hopefully will turn into some sales! Kumar
